I've heard of him but that's only because I had Czech friends who told me about him, I think he invented everything---smile.

I'm so happy to find english translations of our national treasure, the bits I've seen are wonderful! It's just a pity that we can't see the whole plays online, I don't know where to look for them and I'd love to see every single one of them. :D Anyway, good luck!

Only some very good actors should ever try to play the Jara Cimrman Theatre, and only the very best should try to translate it to another language. And you guys absolutely nailed it. You are so funny in the exact correct way and I am sorry I didn’t know you played this in 2014 in Prague, I would definitely go see it! Keep it up!

This is brilliant! You see, I know the whole Theatre of Jara Cimrman like I know my boots, and what I have to tell you - it’s based on simple principle of non-actors performing a theatre by not acting at all, they simply speak the text without trying to act. And guys in this video absolutely nailed it - performing an untranslatable comedy and playing a non-actors at the same time. Bravo, love this!

It is very fortunate for the British nations that Czechs discovered their Cimrman only recently. Had Cimrman been famous in his time, Tom Stoppard would have to be content with the role of a second-class playwright.

As Cimrman found, the mask has been shown to have many benefits. One actor could play several female roles in a single performance by quickly changing the masks. 2020 is a good year to stage his play The Plum.

Just one small tiny yet very important thing, in the whole history of Cimrman nobody said he is not real. There is the "czech" humor in that, nobody is sure whether you are joking or the bloke was actually alive. It is therefore crucial to go on board with this and never break your role. Other than that I wish you good luck! :)
