If a Range chart's candle is defined by a price range, why does it have wicks? Ex: if the range is set to 10 ticks, that's a top and bottom - where do the wicks come from?

Using your example of a 10r chart, if price moves 5 ticks below open and then back up 5 ticks, the candle formed would have a flat top and bottom wick. Same as a time based chart.

Upland is hands-down the most complex video games ever created! 🤣🤯 Trying to help my wife who's just collecting upx on 3-4 properties she has but i think i'll give up at become a master at it. She has the uplander status and other collectibles but there is so many features and mechanics to play this game🥵🤯🏆 Upland beat me ! And i'm playing other Metaverse and very familiar in crypto. This channel is super nice nevertheless 👍💪👌 Is there any chance, where there is a second market where my wife could sell her account and give her credentials and private keys to her upland wallet ? That would be the best because we are both super busy with kids. Many thanks 🙏 if you reading this and would have advice to resell an account on discord with an escrow or something like that?🙏

How do you calculate a 3 minute candle chart to a range chart? Meaning, for a 3m chart do you use 10 range 100 range?

That depends more so on its volatility.

Simply add the ATR indicator to a 3 min. chart. The Average range for X periods of the 3 min. chart is the number of points in that range. Take the Emini S&P (ES) for example: The 3 minute ATR today (09-11-2024) is 3.27 points (over 480 length--a 1 day period*). BUT, the Range bar chart (on NinjaTrader at least) is set to TIcks, NOT points. So for the ES you would then multiply 3.27 x the number of ticks in a point. In the ES, it's 4. So 4 ticks per point x 3.27 points = 13.08. You would then set your range bar chart to 13. Ninja Trader's Range bar settings does not allow decimal points. Hope this helps! *NOTE: There are 1440 minutes in ONE day. Divide 1440 by 3 = 480. There are 480 three minute periods in 24 hours.
