I use them to work with at the job as well as mechanic work like gasket removal and they hold up well. So in my opinion they are not just novelties. They can be edc knives. Depends on what you're looking for. Are you looking for something to carry around/use? Are you looking for a rare collector item? Are you looking for just something for eye candy and show off? Are you looking for something durable? These are all factors that different enthusiasts consider when determining a "good" knife.

@@randomguyonutube-ow4yi They are expensive but they're good knives. They would be great for carry around/use and be reliable the only issue is most people see them as collector pieces and don't want to mess them up so they usually leave them at home. You could get something cheap like something made in China but you take the chance of it going off in your pocket or blade peeking or something. Actual good quality knives are expensive now and days, sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet but a knife like that could last you a lifetime potentially.

OfCourse! These were popular in the early 2000's. They're well built, durable, fun little Italian knives. Original AKC is an Italian company and Bill Deshivs is from the US so I'm still uncertain as to how and when they collaborated from over seas as I was just a child at the time learning about this hobby. But they were sold all over the web at the time. Some people will occasionally sell one on AAPK but the "easiest" way to get one would be to reach out to Bill Deshivs himself and get one custom built but you can expect it to be on the higher price side.

Ayo quick question. Is it a good idea to store these knives open? I feel like it would be kinda a pain in the ass to store some of these with open blade especially if it’s an 11 inch knife.
@ctknifevids74668 ай бұрын
That is a good question, there are beliefs to both sides. Recent studies have shown that it doesn't affect automatic knives negatively keeping them closed, some vintage knives left alone for decades would be opened and fire just fine, but the logical feeling people get is that there is constant pressure on the spring which could cause it to weaken over time. It does seem like it is as simple as just knowing stored energy doesn't really do anything if it's just stored and not in motion, the weakening of spring comes from opening and closing the knife repeatedly (constantly working the spring and applying new pressure to it each time etc.) BUT I WILL SAY I personally sleep better at night knowing there is no stored energy in my springs, and they are at rest. Yes, it can be less convenient having them open, but I keep them in a display case opened and to me it's worth it if it slightly helps my mental ease even if it's just placebo. In the end, no, not the end of the world either way really, just go with whatever makes you feel better.
@Everything-switchblades8 ай бұрын
@@ctknifevids7466 yeah for me I store them open simply because they just display a lot better when they’re open. The whole knife is visible and it’s nice to look at open.
