Can't wait! I'm elbows deep in my 85 GM Stepside. If my truck even breathes a breath of braking, similar to my C6 Z I'll be smiling like Yogi into a picnic basket :-) Awesome video, thanks and cheers from Canada :-)

That selector valve will probably only be good for a return style intake manifold and use valve to switch return feed back to tanks since return pressure should be less than 60psi I probably would not run feed fuel through this valve even if its rated for 65psi

No fuel ran through the selector valve in this install.

I have a question I keep getting different answers. I have a 2008 Corvette I want to install a cam, stage 2 cam do I need to change out the torque convertor? or is it best to change it any ways? just trying to save some money. If I need to change it then I will go with a stage 4 cam instead if I do need to change the torque convertor.
@GreaseMonkeyTV
@GreaseMonkeyTV 3 күн бұрын
You always need a torque converter IMO. As the video states, a stock engine benefits from a higher stall. Please be smart about cam selection though. A stage 4 cam is typically a drag race only benefit as they make very little power in the normal driving range. Also, if you need vacuum for braking, you won't have it.

I wonder what this vehicle idles @ in park/neutral compared to idle rpm in Drive. Does the rpm drop significantly when put into drive? I have a 400 big block. It needs to idle @ 1300rpm in park, in drive it idles @800rpm. If I set idle to 800rpm in park, the vehicle will shut off if put in drive. Any advice helps. Thanks

Hello. I like that color combo. Question: Have you had any issues with the condensers with the Vintage Air setups? I need to buy a kit but seen a few things that people are saying they have had issues with the condensers being undersized and they have intermittent cooling issues and swapped them to bigger ones and haven’t had the issues since.

Wow have delt with every type of mechanic in the last 20 years to the point of installing my own lift!! The greed, sabotage, no list of build and ignorance of certified and licensed mechanics in my past has been appalling, criminal at times and just stupid i will never be slipping a LS into anything, your common sense and frugal choices are a breath of fresh air, watched most of your episodes the lack of drama unrushed correctness is wonderful!! I have been "lied to by morons, chased around a shop with a mahl hammer, threatened with death, with beatings, over charged by shops on days they were closed, filed state police and local police reports some over 12 pages long, waited 14 months for one project to be completed for something that wouldnt roll and was the fault of imaginary co- workers, theft of countless car parts from nine different cars including interior parts, bra hangers, wheel centers, trim pieces replaced with silver ductape, after market chips, new parts swapped with old parts, stolen starters, wrong mufflers installed and body damage then theres the lazy master mechanic who i watched get up from his chair and touch my ride every hour so to bill $900 bucks for one belt replacement (love those smart phones everything at your finger tips) and last the 32 year painter that sprayed a dark grey primer on a ride that needed a white primer ...... Thank you for the common sense, clean way to do a nice job.....

It is well worth the investment into the reverse bleeder kit. You push fluid and air up to the resevoir. Tough pill to swallow initially, but well worth it even if you only work on your household vehicles

Thanks for the great detailed video!! So i put a sloppy mechanic stage 2 cam and recommended a 2500-2800 stall converter. Like yours it doesn't lauch as quickly like my old stock transmission. Would you think going with higher stall converter be ok? Just at a loss right now! Any recommendation wouldngive me a start!!! Thank you again!!
@GreaseMonkeyTV
@GreaseMonkeyTV Ай бұрын
It depends on vehicle weight and gearing also. I used a 2,500 stall w that cam on another build. (On this channel)

@@GreaseMonkeyTV thank you again for taking the time to respond I have a 2000 silverado 1500. Reg cab shortbox 2wd. 3:42 gears. Before cam swap and torque converter swap it was much snappier. @@voradethsayaloune768 So the heavier the car, the lower stall you can use. I believe yours is where it should be. Keep in mind, the idea is to let it get to the power range easier. What you had was a stock cam making more power off idle as well as a stock converter. You'll run quicker ETs with the current setup. But, you'll have to increase throttle input which makes it seem "slower".
