if you have a manual rack go 351w if power steering 347 fo sho. 351w will require a fox 351w swap oil pan,standard oil pump i used bbk 351w fox swap shorty headers, i did a daze cars hydraulic clutch kit 94/95 t5 trans i used a pacesetter offroad x pipe for a 94/95 fox(sn95) but a 79/93 will work. my car does have power steering so i had to massage the oil pan just a tickle to clear the cross over tubing on the rack . power steering hoses was also a small challenge .ill send a vid when im get er done great job as always guys you rock

Additionally if you want to make the fastback with a hatchback or if you want the cougar frontend and taillights., etc.

I'm sorry bur it's dumb. IMO the 67-68 coupes are the best-looking Mustangs except for the early 70's Mach 1. Why not stick the money in HP or suspension or exhaust.

@@lostsocketgarage Well you seem to have no trouble finding people willing to let you butcher up their cars for stupid amounts of money for something that will make absolutely no difference to the driving experience of that car. Sounds smart???

@@mitchstaff8281 haha so judgy , good god. Fun fact, everyone doesn't like what you like buddy. Everyone is different. I did fastback and convertible conversions in the early 90's, back then there was nobody doing it to ask for advice. I had to figure it all out on my own. What you said is spot on. Body gaps, rust repairs, old collision damage that wasn't repaired properly etc. But as you say, have patience, take a break and don't be in a hurry, it will work out. AND DON'T GET LAZY!! It won't get done by itself so keep at it. Great video thanks.

Hey, really enjoy the videos. Keep them coming. I have a 67 Mustang I’m working on and have to replace all the frame rails and torque boxes so if I build a frame jig like you guys did get it all level and then add an additional adjustable cross member with support rails that will fit the pinch welds so that I don’t have to have it bolted to the frame to keep it level. Will that work.

You do what any other experienced paint taper would do. You cut an 'L' shape slice in one of the spots that's a door opening, you climb out and then you tape the 'L' shaped slice back up! If you don't know that,then just put an 'L' shaped piece of tape on your forehead,take a selfie,send it to your mom, and slap her for not teaching you anything after you get home from your 'job' at the chop shop!!! 😊You're welcome!😊

Keep destroying coups and making bastard fastbacks, it just makes my coupe worth more.

@user-jy8ew2xc9g23 күн бұрын
Given the deterioration due to age of most 1960 muscle cars, aren’t you just better off to purchase all the body structure and sheet metal new. You will save hundreds of hours repairing old bodies and have a much better vehicle.
@user-jy8ew2xc9g23 күн бұрын
You can still have the original engine, transmission and suspension.
@lostsocketgarage22 күн бұрын
Completely situational. most of the time, its cheaper to get a rough coupe though.
@devinmcmillan118023 күн бұрын
I am wondering if you found a 67 convertible how hard would it be to do a fastback conversion for it
@lostsocketgarage23 күн бұрын
Not harder than a coupe! Actually it'd be a bit better because 1. less cutting 2. Floor is already a thicker gauge steel 3.and it has both torque boxes already! So she would actually be stiffer from the gate.
