8:46 I figure you won't be covering the official-unofficial continuation StC Online, so let me pitch in to say that those knuckles metalix eventually get picked up by Knuckles himself and modified into angel island defenders, at the small cost of getting dangerously close to triggering porkers PTSD for metallic. Its a pretty late plotpoint, doesn't really come up until after the big finale to the comics primary plotline which wrapped up shortly before IDW started, but we got there eventually.

the original/modern metal knuckles is definitely the best overall but i really prefer the shorter, rigid quills of the archie interpretation something about the weird head nubs the articulated ones come out of really irks me

I'm going to sidestep any commentary on the Metal Knuckles video (appreciative though I may be) and request a video on how/if the Sonic 3 Japanese manual with Knuckles thinking the Death Egg is the one where a legendary dragon is born from and how that connects to the story of Sonic Superstars.

A bit of a hot take: I don't think the dreads work on Metal Knuckles. They certainly look cool, but I do not see them as practical. In my opinion, I think a helmet piece built or painted to look like Knuckle's dreads would work much better practically. What do you guys think?

I'd love for them to be like little storage spaces for Tails Doll to keep small tools. Yes they would have to be quite small, but imagine the little Tails Doll floating around the battle field, pulling bombs out from Metal Knuckles locs when he has the chance and chucking them at the heroes, being an utter menace. (This is from an au where the metal versions of Sonic and his friends work together, like a rebellious clique Eggman has to deal with)

Everyone knows they aren't canon. Whether they're good or not is entirely up to preference. Ken Penders' writing is absolutely awful, but once Ian Flynn takes over, it gets real good

Fun fact: In fleetway, Chaos is a mutated Drakon instead of a mutant chao. Seeing the alien nature of chaos's ancestors, it almost retroactively makes the Drakons the comic equivalent of Sonic Frontiers's Ancients

@@conradojavier7547 Theres definately a case to be made for them basing both the modern chaotix and the Metarex(japanese name would probably be more accurately translated as Metalex, but the accidental dinosaur pun was neat foreshadowing) on things from StC. Despite having less oversight from Sega, StC DID get closer to the games in terms of feel, probably because, as it was also a sega game review magazine, there were people in the building who could help with capturing that game feeling.
