Thanks! Noticed my handbrake was very slack and not holding the car on hills anymore, then I realised that one of the back discs was getting extremely hot compared to the others. Took the wheel off and had the same issue, sprayed it and jiggled it and now it's so much better.

I would recommend getting a decent map torch and get the nuts glowing and then use the nut extractor... Used a pair of really good parrot nosed pliers my self didn't snap any bolts/studs this way.

Actually I don't think what you call the MAF sensor is a MAF sensor, it looks like an air temperature sensor so it can run rich when it's cold to warm the engine faster, like an old choke used to be. And if the TPS is the big bulky type maybe the maf sensor is combined with the tps

@oweston89
@oweston89 Жыл бұрын
You could but you would still need the sensor mapping out and depends how lenient you MOT guy is, you'd be better off cutting it open and gutting it then weld it back up and then map out, would pass MOT and vosa checks.

Best solution is to get brand new calippers, handbrake mechanism is worn and rusted inside, water comes in and blocks it. wd40 will last only for some time, you will need to repeat in some interval

On the reset car will only run if I’m keeping the revs on will not idle itself just stalls. Like yours did in the video. What was your exact reset procedure please while everything’s on and your holding revs turn off ? And how long hold please

so if it were impossible to rotate the switch could you not just switch the wires connected to the top or bottom of the swtich?

So this issue was completely about the aesthetics, however the connections on the switch are usually the same so should still be possible (also please note I’m not a qualified electrician - you should seek professional advice etc)

Did it make any noticeable difference to ride quality? My MK4 seems a bit of bumpy ride on roads with lots of repairs. Looked at everything and nothing seems loose or leaking but is original shocks on a 12 year old car with 150k. Is shocks the thing to do or rear bushes, new lower front arms , drop links ? Or it just old everywhere? Would be interested to know if one part you changed made the most difference?

@@BugRacer1955I bought shocks on auto doc on one of those days when they were discounted, I tried doing it but couldn't get car high enough to use breaker bar to get bottom bolt loose. While I was trying I noticed the trailing arm bushes had expired so it ended up in garage to get the bushes and shocks replaced. I got ford bushes as they were discounted on thier web site and knew they would fit best. Does feel a lot better now! Thanks for the autodoc tip they do seem cheapest ( apart from cheap parts I am not sure about) especially when there's an offer on. I think I will be using autodoc for parts from now on although there delivery time is a more than a week but planning ahead is a good discipline! Cheers
