Little hard on our Cyclones with a C- grade. I'd agree that for the first 30+ minutes but the last 5 ish were an A if not better. B+ overall with a quality win on the road in a rivalry game against an instate rival.

Just discovered your channel, it was a good analysis of the game. This is a solid win, and a gut check moment for the players. They came through it with flying colors. They managed to claw their way back in a game which frankly they didn't perform all that well early. By 3:00 to go, though, they were back in familiar territory.

...I hope a main goal for this team is to continue play undefeated at Hilton...our program at this stage should be expected to uphold that standard...I can foresee a couple of road losses this season...but winning at home is paramount to an elite season...

Rich is staring at a 4-8 record if he doesn't get a different QB and he tries to force Nico into his offense. It happened to Brad Lewis. Lewis went from 7-5 to 3-8 under Rich. Rich also ran Scotty McBrien off to Maryland. Anyone thinking Rich will seamlessly step in is betting on our CRT NIL collective. Sorry, Nick, I'll exit to the wvu side of yt now.

Nope!! WVU hired Rich Rod to come back to Morgantown. All the teams in the Big 12 should be on HIGH ALERT!!! WVU is about to take over the Big 12 and be the dominate team in the conferencee. Just like they were in the Big East conference. Rich is Back and a new era begins for WVU. They are going to get back to what they once were and things are looking great for WVU.

I think more people knew this season would be legendary than you think. We saw that we had one of the highest percentage of returning talent from a good 2023, and we knew this crew was committed to doing something great here. Matt Campbell had so few good players leave through the portal because the culture of this team had gelled in a way that happens on very few other teams.

Let's not follow Drake's style of crazy click bait videos. The high character of the Becht family and how well Rocco fits into the Cyclone family are incompatible with him cutting and running to a competitor. Anthony wasn't sucking up to WV trying to get a job when he mostly snubbed them and cheered for ISU the whole game.

Don't know how much I hit on it, but If Anthony were to in theory take the job, Rocco would certainly be able to compete for that starting position, and the chance to not only avoid being away from his father, but also to get to play for him could be something to consider here. I can see where you're coming from with clickbait, but it's not clickbait if it's a very real possibility

@LockedOnCyclones I get that it is a possibility, but nothing about the Becht family makes that possibility be reasonable. 1) Love the guy, but I don't get Anthony Becht getting the WV job. 2) Both Anthony and Rocco are sold on the idea of building a football culture where players and coaches are all loyal to each other. Rocco has already turned down bigger NIL money to stay at ISU. I just don't see him leaving when he has a huge opportunity to become a Cyclone legend.

It's interesting you'll describe the Becht family as high quality people and then suggest he snubbed WVU. He rooted for his son. As a Mountaineer, knowing the Becht family for decades and not months, I came here to say I don't think Rocco would've done that had Anthony gotten the job. I can understand why someone would suspect such a move as possible but believe Rocco would want to finish what he's began. He's led isu to historical heights. Had Anthonh gotten the job, and Rodriguez now does, he would've had a strong QB room to try to hold onto. Now, the click bait issue. The way this video began, it looked 100% like Drake. Seemed like Nick was trying to mirror Drake's style even. I've blocked Locked on Big 12 because of the style and nonsubstance by requesting youtube not recommend the channel. IMO, Drake isn't someone to emulate. Not saying anything about him personally, I don't know him, but I can't take his shtick.

Sad to see JJ leaving. I was always cheering for him and knew several people who went to watch him his Senior year in HS. But now that he's 3rd on the depth chart, I hope he gets somewhere that will play him. He'd be the starting QB at 75+ schools out there. I would not be shocked if he plays for a team that plays Iowa State to see him give Rocco a run for his money.

We do, but only in a certain niche. If a player is making his choice on NIL money and prestige only, no. But players that value the team culture of Iowa State and the fact that Matt Campbell will legitimately care about them as a person instead of as nothing but a football player, those players can get pulled to Iowa State. Iowa State recruiting (possibly by design) makes recruiting selfish players unlikely.

@ I agree with you 100%. If NIL wasn’t as big as it is I think we would have big talent coming to Ames because I do believe it’s a 5-Star Culture. But money talks and I can’t blame them. I trust this staff and think that it could be home to the players that get overlooked by these big programs. Just a wait and see game to see how things develop in the new world of the transfer portal

Defensive adjustments has been my biggest concern. In the new Big 12 we have a lot more teams that are willing to run the ball. Need to be able to show a different look in early downs to put the opposing team in throwing situations that we thrive in. But that tackling was rough to see no matter if it was a pass or run

Tackling has been a problem all year. Iowa State was dominant on the first series but after that not so much. They could have called a timeout after any of those big ASU chunk plays in the first half. The game was mismanaged and the team unprepared. Abu Sama had one good his whole collegiate career,Hansen and Jackson should have gotten more playing time.

The targeting hit on Rocco was egregious. I was shocked to see ASU acting innocent after such a flagrant foul. Dillingham showed no class when he let the guy stay on the sidelines after he was ejected instead of sending him to the locker room.

Targeting has been called inconsistently across college football. The hit on the UGA qb was targeting but was overturned, this hit Rocco was not targeting.

Given that both teams wore the same colors, it would be impossible to say who had more fans. All my friends who were there said there were lots of Cyclones there.
