Craig does not have the charm an charisma that bond is supposed to have! Neither does he behave like a man of the world. He also lacks the unapologetic masculinity of Bond! Sean Connery had all these as had George Lazenby and Roger Moore. Timothy Dalton also had them but there was a much harder and colder undertone in his Bond that was more visible than on the earlier Bonds. Pierce Brosnan lacked many of these traits and Daniel Craig had none! The lyrics of "Thunderball" tells everything that is needed to know about Bond!

@tombrunila2695 Nah Craig was a blunt instrument which bond should be. If anything, he was the most closest to the books. A diamond in the rough!

"Avengers end Game" on a "Blue Peter" budget. Sutekh being dragged through space/the time vortex/whatever reminded me of when Pierce Brosnan's James Bond did that kite-surfing a tidal wave thing in "Die another day." The story didn't make any sense and that random jump to random woman with dead baby and a metal spoon was very jarring. Hopefully the next run of Doctor Who episodes will focus on monsters of the week and less of these anticlimactic mystery box story arcs.

I think at this stage even the most sycophantic RTD fans have started to admit that this series was just not very good.

I went into this show with an open mind. After 3 or 4 episodes, I lost interest. I don't buy the 15th doctor as THE DOCTOR. Just like the 13th. I don't feel they arr an over 2000 year old time lord who's been through a time war. They are just overly energetic and don't seem grounded.

i noticed some bad script writing as well all a bit disjointed the bit were he tells ruby think harder was stupid should have been focus and imagine picture a solid tardis also the bit were he said to waman have you ever dreampt you was a abulance should have been first aid automated system al in all finished a bit flat with no new mysterys.
@charg1nmalaz0r516 ай бұрын
Its actually shocking to me i have seen a few people acting like this was somehow amazing. You have to really shut off your brain, like completely for that to be the case. Maybe my expectations of writing are too high.

Nah, I think we ask the bar minium and its doctor who it can be more and should be more. Its just RTD he does his thing, so everything feels predictable!
@charg1nmalaz0r516 ай бұрын
@@TheGingerGeekShow I think his worst writing trait is he writes something he wants to happen, rather than if it makes sense for the story/scene/or character to do such a thing.

The so-called "love story" just fell flat in "Rogue". As you say, it was rushed - forced, even. I can't believe the reviews we're getting from the younger generation of content creators on KZbin. They're all virtue signalling to each other, and it's pathetic that they consider this episode to be the classic formula. Again, as you say, very vanilla. Not far removed from the 10th doctor classic with Madame Pompadour. At least that was entertaining and far more enjoyable

I only watched 5 mins, so might be being stupid, but: what was the time-travely inciting event for the Maestro? If the Toymaker unleashed the Maestro in 1920s (in the Giggle), then how does Ruby remember the Beatles (more generally, why are there no timeline changes until Ep 2)? And why is Ruby protected from the butterfly effect (remembers the Beatles) in Ep 2, but not in Ep 1 (the squashed butterfly)? Not really strong complaints, because DW fans learn quickly not to worry about such things, but those 2 seemed particularly egregious. Add on what I’ve always called “BBC acting” (or Hollyoaks acting) for Ruby, and overall just confirmed why I don’t watch DW.

I hate the new Doctor Who episodes. Me and the wife are long time DW fans and we both agree….. That baby episode? STUPID! The most poorly written DW ever. 👎

I only found out it's only gonna be 8 episodes after watching the episodes. Both felt like filler, which every season has a few filler episodes, but that's usually 12 episodes. You'd think the smaller episode count. It would trim down the fat and have more focus on quality. So far, I'm not impressed. My eyes glazed over, watching these episodes back to back.

Thank you for your review. I will admit to being someone who quit out of who towards the end of Capaldi’s doctor. I’ve kept in touch and watched some hoping to recapture what I loved about the show and it just hasn’t yet. But in trying to get a gauge of these new episodes it’s been hard to find someone that just speaks to what’s going on on screen without it devolving into conversations about other things. I still think this new who is not for me so I’ll just stick to rewatching old episodes when I’m craving who. But again thanks for the honest but on point review of the show

Smooth - but why two 'females', perhaps to save production costs (?) would have preferred 'male' and a 'female'. Price for me is simply too high, I guess the set will either be a sell out (as they often are) part of me suspects that there is a small chance of these being a £14.99 clearance in several months time - or is that just wishful thinking ? Thanks for your post.
