Yep, the exhaust bellows actually have little slots in them, so water coming out is by design

Awesome! My 88 Bayliner is doing this when I’m putting water in the overflow that connects to the raw water pump. Might not be the same thing but when I fill it up it leaks out the bellows

chris padilla check the bellows - you should see little slots that look like they should be there. Ie not torn, etc

Should be able to help you with that. Mine came with the same engine. We ended up swapping it out for the engine you see here from Repower Marine., but sill have the 290DP. Essentially the same as the 205a, but with the vortec heads, so a bit more power. Falcon no longer exist from what i can tell. I believe they were sold to another company, so were rebranded (the name escapes me), and that was the last I can see. Let me know any questions you have!

shenani gans If your budget will stretch, I'd recommend a superjet of sorts (square-nose or newer round nose models). The 550 is/was great, but reliability doesn't match that of newer skis. This one got a moderate amount of use, and it's needed two top end rebuilds, a new battery and starter motor in about 2 years. This one in particular was a pre-reed valve model (later on they upgraded to reed) which is pretty difficult to start consistently. Still great fun, but a lot was learnt from these early skis which was implemented in later models.

it should be around 250 HP with maybe 280ftlb torque, at a fairly rough guess. Looking at £3-4K for an engine, if you can find one (no longer produced).
