I would have put "Reagan" on my list of disappointing movies. I am a huge fan of Ronald Reagan and I thought Dennis Quaid was a perfect casting decision. But despite having its moments, specifically Quaid’s performance and a poignant ending, the movie tried to cram too much of his life into too short a runtime. It felt very rushed and shallow and the framing device with Jon Voight as a former KGB agent felt out of place and awkward. On top of that, the movie kept praising him so much, that it forgot to tell us who he was as a person. I really think that "Reagan" would’ve been better as a miniseries as opposed to a movie, or at the very least focused on just a few aspects of his life and expanding on those.
@TeaAndPopcorn8 күн бұрын
A Reagan mini-series would've been PERFECT! I didn't watch the movie, but knowing what I know about Reagan, there is so much to cover regarding his life and career.

What are your top five favorite movies of 2024?
@AmityvilleFan9 күн бұрын
Just because a film flops, doesn't mean it's bad. I liked your thumbnail, not much the title.
@TeaAndPopcorn9 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for pointing that out! I actually agree with that a flop doesn’t make it bad. Most of these films on my list happened to be my least favorite films of 2024 and in my opinion, are the worst. But one of them I actually I liked because it was a so bad it’s good movie. I also didn’t include great films that happened to be financial flops. My first title was “An Honest Review of the Worst Films of 2024” but that didn’t perform as well as this one. I noticed that you have to be a bit hyperbolic and keep things simple with your title and thumbnail to get the more clicks lol. I’d love to hear your suggestions for alternative title or thumbnail caption. I really appreciate your honest and thoughtful feedback! ☺️
@AmityvilleFan9 күн бұрын
@@TeaAndPopcorn I don't deal with algorythms. I'm just getting tired of Elon Musk's "hyperbolism". Or who was before him? David Molyneux, that.
@TeaAndPopcorn9 күн бұрын
@ I get that. My reviews are pretty balanced and I give the pros, cons, and some suggestions on how the movies should be improved. As a creative critiquing creative media, I always give the benefit of the doubt and know that art is subjective at the end of the day. I’ll play around with the thumbnail caption a bit because I’m not necessarily talking about the box office or financial flops of 2024. Thanks again for feedback and being both honest and kind!

2024 was a bad year for movies. Maybe one of the worst ever. The fact that so many lists have so many different movies on them and they are all legit bad tells you last year was bad. Most years you almost always see the exact same movies. 2024 seems to have at least 30 to 40! different ones on different lists. And most of the ones on "best" lists are sequels or really just "okay". When almost all "best" lists have at the top Dune 2 (good, but not as good as the first) and The Substance (a pretty good, but not great, horror movie) or some small foreign language movie, that shows this was a pretty bad year.
@TeaAndPopcorn13 күн бұрын
I’m seeing a pattern too! Out of my seven years of posting movie reviews online, this is the first year that I actually made a worst movies list, and that’s saying something! My next video will be my Best Movies/My Favorite movies list.

I never heard about that. If it's true, Phillips made a huge mistake using someone else's dream. The vision should be his, just my opinion.
@danielwright392913 күн бұрын
None of them wanted to do it. Warner bros backed up a brinks truck full of money and Joaquin and Phillip’s were spit balling ideas and he jokingly said “why don’t we get Gaga to play Harley and make it a musical.” Phillip’s says, “I know her personally. I could get her.” Joaquin is like, “Wait! Is this really happening?”
