well said mostly but resentment from a white individual toward an immigrant's success, particularly when rooted in their status as an immigrant or specific demographic, is a form of racism, especially if similar sentiments are not directed toward their white counterparts of immigrant status. As immigrants, we shouldn't have self-pity for our successes probably because a native is underachieving.

I reject the notion that economic scarcity is a valid excuse for racism. The truth is racism always rears its ugly head when there is scarcity and a competition for resources. Perhaps your guests need to go back in time to the great depression in the 1930s, the rise of anti immigration sentiments and bigotry that ultimately led us to the Second World War. People faced hardship and job losses, it was never a valid excuse for racism and hate. Why should it be an excuse today? Perhaps your guests also need to read about the Shelburne riots, the first race riot in Canada, where black people had their homes destroyed because some racists thought they had taken the few jobs available in the area. What we see on the internet targeted at certain groups is not just words. It always leads to violence against a group. Showing a form of justification for this is disgraceful. I suggest they get better education and not downplay the struggles of racialised people.

Absolutely agree with Emeka on the culture shock part!! I always say that in Nigeria, the few people I saw on the streets were mentally retarded.. but here, you’ll see people who are actually mentally okay, they just don’t have where to live and I’m sure after months of living outside and maybe not getting a proper shower, they just start looking like they’re crazy!!! And yes!!!! There’s a lot of ignorance!! Imagine me trying to convince an adult that January has 31 days… I’m like!!! 🙄🙄 something we knew in primary school!! The western world is indeed very far from perfect. I really wish things would get better at home😢

Racism exists, but it's one aspect & if one's homeland is without racism, tribalism, statism or nepotism, then stay there...Many skilled tradesmen came to the US with different programs, so Canada knew exactly what it was doing when they created their high targeting criteria bcos they knew the unstated systems they'd implement to keep things a certain way. Which thankfully many are overcoming by their hard work & sheer will. However, u can't have countries with high populations like 9ja, India, China focusing on certain countries to migrate to in large numbers & practically crashing their host country's different systems including economical, housing, social, educational, healthcare etc. Bcos not only do we 9ja for example go there with high numbers of kids, we have high numbers there too & bring extra family members causing a population explosion! The average working white couple has 2 kids = A 4 person nuclear family. An African couple will have at least 3-4. Many 9ja fathers will stay in 9ja & be boasting "My wife & kids r in XYZ." How they feed or pay bills, he doesn't know or care. In his mind, the country will raise them. Even when the man migrates with them, the stress on the couple while integrating & re-educating themselves into the society will sometimes make relationships end in divorce, the children will be left with a single mother or become public wards with some of the males becoming the face of crime & u expect their system designed to accommodate a certain number not to crash & then we expect them to like us when all their systems r discombobulated by us not thinking things thru before doing them? Impossible.

I reject the idea that Canadians don’t care about the colour of your skin - specifically Canadians who are not marginalized. There is racism in Canada and it is deep and systemic. Don’t get me wrong, these men have done a brilliant job with touching on all other aspects of the reality in Canada. However, racism here exists and they do care that you are black. Perhaps a black man’s perspective may be different from that of a black women. However, I have still met black men who have faced discrimination so perhaps a broader perspective is lacking. It is not “normal” human interaction as it was said in this video. It is sad because this may be an indication that we are use to this treatment and are complacent to discrimination toward ourselves . Oppression is not about how much you make, the man who makes $200k may faced tremendous challenges being black which affects his quality of life. The White guy making nothing has less barriers and perhaps have a better quality of life. I think it is important to look at the issue holistically when we mention oppression. Nonetheless, I appreciate the some truths discussed here. Immigration is a problem yes, but two truths can exist, Immigration is affecting Canada, and racism exists. The problem of immigration just overtly exposes the racism that exist.

They asked her to go for job in Edo. I have being in Canada for almost 3 decades I have never faced that level of discrimination here.

You do realize all human beings are territorial. Most humans in the world would hate that their territory is proliferated by another people. Cut them some slack; this is their home. You immigrated here-don’t be entitled, expecting to be treated as an equal. Take what you can get, stop always complaining, or go back home where you will live around your own kind.

Racism isn't significant anymore in US and Canada, See it as humans having preference, women prefer taller men, it's foolish of shorter men to cry about why women don't want them, men prefer younger women, would be equally foolish of older women to moan about why they're overlooked. These preferences haven't prevented shorter men and older women from finding suitors and having a family. The most important thing is that you are economically viable and can thrive better than your home country based on your skillset, any supposedly 'deep and systemic' racism that makes it convenient for black and brown people to take home annually $100,000- $1, 000,000 like they currently do in US and Canada can not be said to be racism. Those countries reward excellence, intelligence, merit and hardwork better than our home countries.

They graciously allowed your sorry asses into their country and gave you good jobs, access to their social services. Taxes are how they fund their social services and make their country work. If your salary is not enough for you, get another job. Please stop your gripping and complaining. It’s honestly sickening and disgusting at this point. If Canada is not good, please LEAVE AND LET THOSE WHO APPRECIATE THE OPPORTUNITIES, CULTURE AND LIFESTYLE IN CANADA ENJOY THEM IN PEACE. Go back to your home countries where you are the kings of the jungle and let us hear word. Thank you. P.S: it is useless videos like these coming from ungrateful immigrants that the authorities see and influence future immigration opportunities for truly deserving people. Why can't he come, help him settle for two months as u will lodge him and get him working as quickly as possible, den you guys can split the rent and save cost. He is ur blood brother for crying our loud. If he comes thats a blood family for you in canada and a shoulder for u to lean on. I see the point you guys are trying to make but let me be the devils advocate here. I see the facial attitude, especially the other guy makes as if he despices immigrants. With the greatest respect, All you three are immigrants and came under liberal government policies that you guys are covertly castigating now. You guys have no right to now adopt Conservative views in a country you where neither born no brought up In but moved here for a better life. If the liberal government decides to be kind enough to give asylum seekers benefits because that's white man values, offcuz you and I are from Africa and are not used to a responsible government but we have no business to even discuss it. Respectfully, all I see here is Nigerians with Canadian passports, in reality you are not truly canadian as white canadians have already labelled you as you don't even talk like them. This trend has been a big concern for both Democrats and liberals around the world, they bring in immigrants who they believe will adopt their views, those immigrants initially adopt liberal views but once they get their passports, switch to the conservative views brought from back home and chant anti immigrant vibes. That's how trump won, lots of immigrant latinos and blacks voted for him. So I'm not totally surprised here.

The Canadian & American culture is different than Nigerian’s. Average Canadian’s net worth (well being if you will) is measured and possible beyond ‘job’ they invest early in say real estates so may not be eager to ‘speed up’ and chase after opportunity at their jobs. They most importantly do not call anywhere home- don’t have a need to send money to anyone. Even kids and families/ relatives here take of their own business and nearly never need or expect help from others. Let’s be clear, many Canadians you find in shelters or living on the streets have relatives … It’s important, to give context to your contributions…. The latitude Nigerians have to hide their income from the Treasury is most likely unavailable here in Canada. 😂

The problem is the so-called Nigerians, or should I say Africans in Canada don't like to tell themselves the truth, they hide behind pretense like everything is all good while it's not because they want to look better for the people in Africa. I've seen some Nigerians working in a job where they are treated like animals in Canada, but they still pretend it's cool. And not even well paid. I've seen some Nigerians backstabbing a follow Africans to gain more favor from whites and asians and still they get treated the same way. Plus, talk about taxes, rents, and bills. Guys, always be honest. Canada is difficult, and Africans, specifically Nigerians, don't like themselves. And it's affects African unity and growth in Western countries. They see the distrust in us. The pretense and lies. That is why they don't let we Africans have good position or opportunities. And stop lying and backstabbing each other. Let's break the limitations ourselves. Indians and Filipinos are doing it, so why can't Africans do it. This show should be about how to break the African selfish mindset, especially from Nigerians. They're difficult to trust in a workplace. I'm not saying they're bad. But you can't trust them. I mean no offense. I'm just being honest.
