well done man, currently doing the same thing to the same boat. i was trying to get a look at what you did with the transom. i think i saw a giant aluminum plate. was it rotten & did the plate suffice? i was in the boat today trying to make a plan for a full transom replacement. it doesnt look like its 1 large piece like every other boat. rather it looks like wood blocking embeded in the hull where attachment points are. for instance the section supporting the outboard is no more than 20" wide. but i see the edges of it line up with the stringers in the floor then gussets were glassed in place to bond the "transom" to the stringers. any input would be great.
@williamsdiy14346 ай бұрын
Sorry it took so long to reply back. My Transom was not rotted. I just had the plate for extra strength. It sounds like what you are doing will be strong enough, But I am no professional. If I would change anything on the boat it wouldn't have carpet.

This is a perfect tutorial for me! Well done! Couple questions. How did you handle the foam? remove completely, replace entirely? What material did you use? Lastly what was your total cost? Thanks for your time!
@williamsdiy14342 жыл бұрын
There's no real easy way to get the foam out. I used a Sawzall clawhammer and heavy duty putty knife. I ultimately did not put anything back in it's place. total price was $1,500.

You do excellent work and this is a very helpful video but your cinematography needs some critique, if I may, the view is too narrow and too close, you need to use a wider angle to shoot (a cheap wide angle camera maybe?) and take the camera (phone in your case I guess) much further back so you get a larger area into the screen. Keep making these amazing vids, thank you. Edit: also suggest you make the videos at least 10-15 mins long, the way you shoot them with the no-filler gibberish, no-nonsense approach is awesome but 2-3 mins is too short.
@williamsdiy14342 жыл бұрын
That seems to be my number-one complaint. I'm pretty new at this filming and editing. Plus I'm doing it all on my phone. Newer videos will get better.👍 thanks for watching and thanks for the info.
