When Emily revealed that Lorelai could not come up with one nice story about her dad for his funeral, it really proved who the true villain of the show was. Her parents were products of their generation and did the best they could. They were not monsters, just not perfect. No one is. But Lorelai completely dismissed them for it. Very sad. I am glad she redeemed herself by telling Emily that story.
