That thing had to be ready to go and dead. It doesn't look to be in bad shape though. I couldn't see any green leaves or branches. It looks like a Tulip Poplar , maybe the wood can still be used for something other than fire wood. It's very straight and doesn't look bad.

This dosen't impact the climate change these forestry cuts ar better for the forest, bit what dose impact the enviroment and climate change is the overcutting of old growth in vencoover island. A few acre clear cuts here and there wouldn't be bad, but they are clear cutting hundreds of acres every month.
