Yes, the utility of SnS/Wand really can't be understated. Being able to put out meaningful heals while tanking is awesome, and it takes stress off the healer.

And I played New World for maybe 4 months before I gave up due to the just awful gear progression system. Been playing Throne and Liberty over the past 10 weeks. REALLY enjoying it, surprisingly.

Great question! First off, I tried Focused Fire Bombs quite a bit over the past month. Here's my take on the pros and cons: + bigger burst, especially if you charge it + huge healing recovery debuff (-80%) - you may not be able to finish casting if the target breaks line of side, goes out of range, or you get CC'd - actually duration of the debuff is lessened by the target's debuff duration reduction I use Serial Fire Bombs for several reasons: + instant cast, so no issues with target going out of range, breaking line of sight, me getting CC'd, etc + can be cast up to 3 times, and stacks between 6 to 9 burning stacks, which synergizes with the specialization of Fireball Barrage to add an additional projectile per stack of burning I think that Focused Fire Bombs is a great tool especially in premade contexts where that healing recovery debuff is powerful. In 1v1s, skirmishes, and random fighting, the value is not as strong given the short duration. Many PVP players will disagree with my take. The mechanics of Fireball Barrage definitely favor the Fire Bombs skill that maximizes burning stacks. YMMV.

Avoiding damage, and especially CC, is incredibly powerful in PVP. It also is very beneficial in PVE, as I can easily pull an entire room in Shadowed Crypt including 1-2 bosses and have no trouble AOE'ing them down solo. I'd heard that Hit is easier to get on T2 gear, but in T1, I'm loving the performance of Melee Evasion. I talk a lot with people I've fought in 1v1s and they tell me the Melee Evasion is really tough on them. I don't stack 2 Evasions because with your 2ndary defensive stat is hard to get above 950 or so, and Evasion only has value if it exceeds your opponent's Hit. Whereas Endurance is useful with any amount. And I find Xbows and Bows to be more dangerous than Staff and Wand users.

I appreciate the praise. I think of myself as someone who doesn't play every class and doesn't know all the details of how they work, but enough to know what I need to know to fight them. If you're thinking of trying Throne and Liberty and would play on a west coast server, roll a character on the server Soulfire and give me a shout. I joined a super chill guild with good players.

Ah, you've been following since the very early days! I loved WAR. It was a shame the devs try to build too much content: 24 classes, too many maps, etc, and therefore too many bugs. WAR is a great example of focusing / limiting scope rather than trying to do too much. The population cratered hard within 3 months. I loved that game too. When your kids are old enough to play MMOs then you have an excuse to play with them!

I had no intention of playing Throne and Liberty but ended up trying it out after watching some streamers talk about it. The game has been a very pleasant surprise. There's so much different types of engaging content. There are lots of ways to build a character. And there is a lot of different types of PVP :)

Throne & Liberty has been surprisingly fun. Grats on the kids, hope family life is going well.

The PVP in this game is a bit weird. Most players are way zoomed out. But it's partly because the battles can have hundreds of players.

@@nikenzzo I don't think melee evasion is meaningfully beneficial until you reach 1300 Melee Evasion, and it really begins to show its value at 1500+. There are a lot of melee evasion gear pieces on armor and accessories - these really help! And traiting as much as possible.

Yes, 100%. Let me start with the bad first: 1. the targeting in the game is very cumbersome and the settings are unnecessarily complicated. This can be addressed by changing your hotkeys ("shortcuts"). I use my mouse wheel to switch between targets 2. there are a ton of different systems in the game. There's definitely a learning curve Here's the good: 1. you can play whatever weapons you want. You're not stuck with a class and subject to the balancing whims of the devs. Granted, if you change to different weapons you have to re-work a lot of stuff 2. there is so much awesome content. Co-op dungeons, open world dungeons, all kinds of competitive events, arena 3. the game brings players together, in cooperation and in conflict, better than any game I've ever played 4. the variety of different systems and other easter eggs makes this a game with rich complexity 5. it's a F2P game that I haven't spent any money on for my 2nd (and now main) character. You can play completely free and progress Players are very engaged from what I've seen. I came in skeptical and have grown to really appreciate the game. And I love the solo PVE, group PVP, solo / small-scale PVP (hugely awesome IMO), and large-scale PVP.

Yes. At 3.3k CP, I have ~1700 Melee Evasion and ~720 Ranged Endurance. I was initially going double Evasion, but the secondary Evasion stat is useless if you can't get it to 800-1000.

T&L has really surprised me. The devs have created an epic world with challenging open world dungeons (at least before getting very well geared) and PVP group events (e.g. world bosses) that draw in lots of players, even PVE ones.

Last time I played WoT was Feb of this year. Haven't played since IIRC. I just got tired of the cheesy tanks due to WG's greed. WoT could be such a great game, but WG refuses to tone down the Pay-For-Advantage.
