Great video explanation!!! This makes 45s wicked easy. Is making 30 degree bends just taking 1/4 of the width measurement? And i guess 75s are taking 3/4 of the width measurement?

@@SolarSpaClub a 30° angle would be more of taking a third off of a 45° angle instead of a quarter. When I get into the tricky angles, I usually grab a standard protractor and mark the angle and then just trace it all the way around the downspout. Hope this helps.

Do you have any videos on how you actually put an outside miter together on the 5 or 6 inch K style gutters? I am wondering how many little tabs you cut for the overlap on the face of the gutter, and if you rivet them all down or just use sealant on some of them? I am planning to redo the gutters on my house...probably a bad idea to do it myself lol...i am a trim carpenter by trade, so I have a basic understanding of how to use a level and cut a miter, but would like to see how a professional puts them together. Thanks so much. I just subscribed to your channel!

@@MikeHeck-t7e we don’t usually put our corners together without using strip miters, it’s a separate piece made to cover up the gap where the gutters meet. These are usually available at your bigger home stores. Let me know if you need any help with them

interesting techniques I was going to put a nice copper cap on my chimney, but it has a steeper slope of concrete on top of chimney trying to decide if i want to try one piece peened into shape or just do multiple pieces.

Why you run the gutter so long? A piece that long, it would help to make a mark on the gutter and the facia to line up. Then you wouldn’t be going back and forth and up and down ladders to line it up.

I’m building a barndominium and I’m installing the gutters and downspouts myself right now. I’ve never done it before and your videos have helped me do this. My downspouts came out perfectly and I have a two foot run from my gutter to my post. Thank you

Man, I just started doing more metal buildings and doing these types of downspouts instead of the box style. Always hated the end result. I never thought to bend the corners to a 90! Thanks for the video

I'm a little slow in geometry. When you measure the 2 1/2" and draw the line back to the center line that angle is not 45 degrees correct? The face is 5" wide and the side you cut the angle on is 4" wide. why the 2 1/2" and not half the 4" width. These are only questions. I'm not questioning your method. I can see it clearly works. I'm doing 4 down spouts to clear a brick wainscot that was install after the gutters were hung. Thanks for the video its a great help!

Yes exactly. This is for a side offset. If it was for a forward offset then you would divide the 4" side. Sorry for the late reply
