Jason is such a gorgeous story teller and poet/musician. I saw him touring with AFP in about 2008/9ish and fell immediately in love. I've had Against the Night stuck in my head again the last few days so it's incredible to find this with the story added on.

It's Joshua Kaufman His half brother if i recall, he's the accordionist/pianist/organist/clarinetist on the blasting company. Whilst Justin is the trombonist/guitarist/lead vocalist

This song means so much to me, and live it just sounds so incredibly gutwrenching compared to the studio version. I love the song a lot, its pretty relatable, and thats why it means so much to me, so many of congletons songs mean a lot to me, especially this one.

Lyrics per an email exchange with jason himself back in 2014: are we nearly done? it's hard to see all we've begun in this light. where is my father's son? i want to see him gather wood and build a fire and throw some light on all we've begun, all i've become. my eyes aren't what they used to be. and all visions granted me, banquets laid out for these eyes, did not break my stride. i passed them by. all we have wasted, please, let my eyes taste of these. i want to see, father. i want to see.
