I'm a bit of a late comer here, but just wanted to say thank you for cutting your lawn laterally (side to side) rather than from house to street. I take a bit of flack around here for also cutting laterally. My reason is I have a bit of a hill and I just don't want to push my mower up a hill! Makes sense right? Also a reel mower does cut nicely. It's like using scissors to cut rather than a whacking it it with a machete like with a rotery power mower. Btw, from what part of the country are you? I'm in Central TX.

I wonder if a low retaining wall would allow those leaves to keep blowing down the lane? Hopefully, most of the leaves will keep rolling by or stay on the outer perimeter? I hate extra work. I really do. Thanks for the wet mulch tip.😉

I'm buying this because the cut can go to 2 inches. It saves on water and shields the roots from the sun. I'll plug the lawn and use a granular type of feed. Done this on a rental and it was nice to have a healthy lawn to walk barefooot on.

Food for thought : I truly don't understand why you mind leaves in your mulch? leaves ARE mulch.... they are good compost for plants. .... also you don't like your neighbours having trees??? are you a gardener you don't like trees.... the leaves that fall on the ground everywhere in nature it is good for the soil and ecosystems , bugs etc , it is good to let leaves stay all winter and if you want to rake, rake in spring once it's warm .

Will be trying my hand at reel mowing my bermuda lawn soon, planning on purchasing a earthwise 16" manual, and seeing what kind of cut I get with it without spending $1000's on a powered reel. What mowing height are you cutting your bermuda? I'd like to get mine down to about 1/2inch. How are you keeping the lawn so green?

4 minutes to tell you to wait until the mulch is wet so that it's heavier and even with the 6 leaves he had on his mulch I think it quicker to pick them up and put them in his pocket!!!

Or just use the leaf blower on a much lower setting and it'll pick up the leaves and not the mulch ( maybe some stragglers of mulch gets out, not much at all)
