Conan is a such a good interviewer. It's hard to get a good interview with Lydon because most people don't know what they're talking about

Not overly keen on the underlying racist narrative on show here and! The complete lack of any minority representation such as non binary communities

Used to watch him every night after Letterman. Miss simple long form interview shows like this. But, in this TikTok era, no more attention spans for this kind of television.

Conan told a story when he had Gregg Allman on his TBS show that when Johnny said they despised the Allman Brothers, Gregg and Dickie Betts heard it backstage and tried to kick his ass, but Johnny ran out of the building before they could get to him.

Clearly, america was obsessed with stupifying itself at this moment in time. As it had always done really. But this was the height. And then you wanna talk to johnny rotten essentially about your own bullshit. Well good luck with that.

John is probably on the spectrum somewhere. And one of the symptoms is having an inability to lie and say things how they are even at the cost of other peoples feelings. I believe John’s stories more than anyone else involved in the band

No he’s not on the spectrum. When he was 7 contracted spinal meningitis , hospitalised in a coma for months, followed by a year in recovery in hospital . The title of John Lydon's memoir, Anger Is an Energy: My Life Uncensored, takes its inspiration from a lyric written for his band Public Image Limited - but it also has its roots in a transformative real-life experience from his childhood. As Lydon writes in the book, he suffered a scary brush with meningitis when he was 7, which left him in a coma for months - and when he awoke, he essentially had to start over as a person. "When I [came] out of the coma, I had no memory or recollection of who or what I was," writes Lydon. "I couldn't control my own body and I couldn't talk. I did not recognize my own mom and dad. I did not know I had a name. I did not know I belonged to anybody or anything. I was completely and utterly alone."

Oh you know him personally then to say he’s rotten? Well I do , very well, don’t believe the hype, there’s the man and there’s the myth. He’s the most gentle, kindhearted, honest , down to earth, human being I’ve ever had the privilege to know for many years. Incredibly articulate and highly intellectual, and he’s quite a remarkable man because at 7 years old he contracted spinal meningitis in a coma for months, in hospital actually a year in total, he lost his memory, he didn’t know who his parents were, he had to re learn everything, and I mean everything., just think about that for a minute, I’m not saying that harshly btw, honestly it’s completely sobering, I saw this first hand as my dad woke up from his coma , yeah that’s my dad but his mind was completely vacant, starting from scratch, learn to walk forward, then stairs, who he was, who we were, everything, you’re an adult, I’m sure you understand , anyway, i just have to have my rant

Am I really the only person that thinks John Lydon is a phoney ? ‘Johnny Rotten’ was a great frontman in the early Pistol days but has since become an egotistical caricature of himself. He never acknowledges his old band mates apart from Vicious who he has to talk about due to the continued interest in his chaotic life and subsequent demise. In my experience Steve Jones is far more real and always gives a better account of the band when interviewed.

@@mikipiediaelburro7588 my understanding was that john wasn't entirely happy with the consistency of care she got from the professional carers, last year when he was away. Bob and his wife may have already been living over there, but however it came about, John said that the new arrangement had been made and he seemed (to me at least) immeasurably more relaxed than he had been previously. It is critically important that John is able to get away and undertake a little self-care (= getting PiL back in the studio). He has a tendency to go 'all in' esp where Nora is concerned and he was starting to look really rough (the BS in court certainly won't have helped), then the hugely punishing speaking tour which he clearly enjoyed, though would've enjoyed more if he were not worrying so much about Nora. I really do pray that Nora doesn't come to forget him, that will break his heart and for all his faults and flaws he certainly doesn't deserve that. So doubly thankful he's got family so close xxoo

When growing up This Loser was and Idol. John all you have achieved is being in the right place right time and being Lucky enough to have a Malcom as your Manager. What the fuck. When you talk about Sid's death and the audience laughs. Where is your PUNK! You are just another victim of Music. You carry on with your shit onions that are WAY out of date, I would like to see your true onion about Nirvana and Kurt. This grunge band actually captured life. Also the band had actual musical talent. I believe Sex pistols/ PIL did not have an opportunity in early years to perform UN-PLUGGED. I also believe John has become the garbage Hippy that sex pistols despised, just in the business of talking Shit and making money. I wish I could be refunded all my money that I wasted on PIL/Sex pistols. John you are a fucking loser, I hope all future generations that like/appreciate your early work Search what a Jerk you have turned into. SO SAD Johnnhy
