Crime and homelessness has picked up ever since the Pandemic. Also, there seems to be a huge number of very ghetto people and trailer trash meth heads now ever since the city has allowed affordable housing and Section-8. Lots of EBT.... Murder rate has skyrocketed... Its still an iconic community for the very rich and famous but who knows how long that will last.

@@ExtremeObservations WTF are u talking about? Everything I said in my comment is true.. There is a large number of trashy ghett0 people in that area who use EBT. The murder rate has gone up. Recently a reality star was stabbed to death and before that there was a another murder and before that there was a double homicide all within 5 months. Home robberies are up also.. And yes, the wealthy and famous still vacation in Palm Springs.

I assume zoning laws or HOA made it a requirement not to have a 2-3 story houses. The ceiling / roof of the houses are low too. I guess not to block the views of mountains and trees.

not entirely true.. There are plenty of 2 and 3 story houses and town houses and apartment buildings. There are also hotels that have 12 stories or more.. One of the reasons why many houses are just one story is because the heat rises. Also the city is very strict with building codes, most houses have to have a mid century modern look including many new builds.
