Please let us hear the machine cut! We use our ears to help inform us of the setup stiffness, the cutting parameters being acceptable, and whether there's harmonics that will damage tooling or the machine and part. Sound is important to machinists!

Do these machines have half index ability on the turrets for turning tools?

Thank you for inquiring. Our turrets are full index and offer 12 tools on each turret for a total of 36 tools on the TTS Triplex. All tool stations are driven and tools can be used on both the main and second spindle.

Our TC lathe is available with 16 live-tooling stations on the turret: spinnernorthamerica.com/types/35710-universal-turning?cond=new Also, our TTS 85 & TTS 125 lathe is available with 12 or 16 tools on each turret. You can have 1, 2, 3, or 4 turrets.

@@spinnernorthamerica We are currently using Nakamura WT/WY/NTY3 machines all have half index turrets that we are making use of. I was hoping you had an alternative solution.

Great question! It depends on the context and customer requirements. The harder the material and the tighter the tolerances, the more grinding excels. Here we're working with X38CrMoV5-1 (1.2343) vacuum hardened to 52+2 HRC, achieving a surface profile tolerance of 0.003 mm (0.00012 inch) for key dimensions. Our machine offers the flexibility to optimize for each part!
