For problem number 33 why can't we take x=-1 and y=0? It could end up with option D in that case right?

Haha--"clickbait" is a bit of a strong word, but the test is adaptive (i.e adjusts to your difficulty level). I'd say this particular one is on the easy-medium side of the spectrum

Answer is D: A=L² => √(L²)=(√270)*2/3 => L1 = 16.43ft But L2 = ⅔L1 =>L2 = ⅔*16.43ft => L=10.95ft Note: For a square: A = L² A = (10.96ft)² A = 119.90 A = 120ft² 1:14 - 1:28

Hello there, good day. I just saw this video and i wanted to walk you through a way i solve the question, and i always seem to land on 3 as a possible correct answer. If you square both sides to eliminate the square root sign, the outcome reads: x-a = (x-4)^2. Since a = 2, it can be written as: x-2 = (x-4)^2 If 3 is substituted for X, 3-2 = 1 (3-4)^2 = (-1) ^2, which equates to 1.

Yeah that's right sir... If we had an option that say infinite solutions, then we need not only consider their slope, cause no solution lines and infinite solutions line have equal slope, we would also check their y-intercept, that's where makes the difference. Love your videos sir ❤

Shouldn't the answer for this be 8? As you can turn around the numbers to form new numbers. For example, 38 can be flipped to form 83. Similarly, the other three numbers could always be flipped around. Thoughts?

Let's break it down: 1. Malcolm rides his bike to the lake at 5 mph. Let's call the distance to the lake "d". Then, the time taken to ride to the lake is: t1 = d / 5 1. Malcolm walks back home at 1 mph. The distance remains the same, "d". The time taken to walk back home is: t2 = d / 1 1. The total distance traveled is 2d (to the lake and back home). 2. The total time taken is t1 + t2 = (d / 5) + d = (d / 5) + (5d / 5) = (6d / 5) 3. The average speed is the total distance divided by the total time: Average speed = Total distance / Total time = 2d / (6d / 5) = 2d * (5 / 6d) = 10 / 6 = 5 / 3 mph So, the average speed of the traveling portions of Malcolm's trip is 5/3 mph.

Let's analyze the situation: Phil can clean the apartment in 5 hours, so his rate is: 1 apartment / 5 hours = 0.2 apartments per hour Caroline can clean the apartment in 1 hour, so her rate is: 1 apartment / 1 hour = 1 apartment per hour When they team up, their combined rate is: 0.2 apartments/hour (Phil) + 1 apartment/hour (Caroline) = 1.2 apartments/hour To find the time it takes them to clean the apartment together, we can divide 1 apartment by their combined rate: 1 apartment / 1.2 apartments/hour = 0.83 hours Therefore, it will take Phil and Caroline approximately 0.83 hours, or about 50 minutes, to clean the apartment together.

Machine A prints at 5,000 bills per hour and starts at 12 pm. After 1.5 hours, it has printed: 5,000 bills/hour x 1.5 hours = 7,500 bills Machine B starts at 1:30 pm and prints at 10,000 bills per hour. To catch up with Machine A's lead, it takes: 7,500 bills / (10,000 - 5,000) bills per hour = 7,500 bills / 5,000 bills per hour = 1.5 hours Adding this to the time when Machine B starts (1:30 pm): 1:30 pm + 1.5 hours = 3:00 pm

Let's break this down step by step: 1. The van travels for 3 hours at 70 mph, covering a distance: Distance = Speed × Time = 70 mph × 3 hours = 210 miles Since the van is traveling east, it has covered 210 miles of the road to the east. 1. The motorcycle starts 60 miles to the west and catches up with the van after 3 hours. This means the motorcycle has covered the initial 60 miles, plus the additional distance the van traveled (210 miles), for a total distance: Total Distance = 60 miles + 210 miles = 270 miles 1. Since the motorcycle traveled this distance in 3 hours, we can find its speed: Speed = Total Distance ÷ Time = 270 miles ÷ 3 hours = 90 mph So, the speed of the motorcycle was 90 mph.

@@itadaremercy4755 The author is using a different approach to solve the problem. Instead of looking at the total distance travelled, he is looking at the gap distance. The initial gap is 60 miles. In order to close the gap after 3 hours, the gap has to be reduced by 20 miles every hour. This means that after 1 hour, the gap is 40 miles; after 2 hours, 20 miles; after 3 hours, 0 miles. Hence, if the van is traveling at 70 mph, the motorcycle has to travel at 90 mph.
