No- I loved this movie. I thought it combined the best of the best- art film aesthetics, dark drama and comic universe-style camp. Terrific acting and cinematography, too… I thought the movie was mesmerizing- like a beautiful fever dream, a peek into the reality of mental illness. I think this movie will be appreciated in years to come.

I thought the first 1/2 was pretty cool. The animation is sick. The story goes hard. After that it kinda gets a little less awesome. Definitely needs another 12 episodes to wrap the season. We seem to have completed the first season, but not the arcs of the first season.

I think you raise a good argument about character development after big events. The show might concentrate more on the silliness and craziness, but then again this feels like an incomplete season, we might see more character development on the following episodes.

Can we stop calling this “season 1”?! It’s clearly HALF OF A SEASON. When was the last time we ever got a second “season” 6 months after a first? It’s clear the team didn’t finish all of season 1 in time and are trying to sell this as a new “season”.

I think it is brilliant and loved the film. I can understand why so many people didn’t like it, but the hate has gone too far IMHO.

The Joker Folie A Deux movie is a masterpiece. 20 years from now, critics will view it ad a classic masterpiece like they did with The Shinning.

The critics are wrong. The movie is excellent. I admit though: I know nothing about the DC Universe, although I saw the first one and liked that one, as well.

um..... todd phillips said very clearly that he wanted to make a story and the reason he chose the joker was because comic book movies are popular enough to make a lot of people go watch it. (imo this movie sucks though, because of how boring it is) what i mean is i don't get your opinion that this shouldn't have been a joker movie, yes, even todd philips agrees. you went on a very long rant about something that the director has clarified blatantly literally 5 years ago already

I thought it was excellently done! I knew what Todd Phillips was doing all along right from the first one. Sounds like you "Joker fans" had different expectations of what he did, and now it really burns you inside that you didn't get what you expected. Tod Phillips called it JOKER, by the way... not THE JOKER. Yes, it is a possible origin story, being that the Arthur Fleck character was only an influential figure to THE FUTURE JOKER that that was watching on the side lines. When I repeatedly had seen that guy several times in the film watching Arthur Fleck, I already knew why. I did put the puzzle pieces together in my mind before the whole picture came together.

Okay I'm in the minority but I do like this movie because it essentially destroys the power fantasy of the Joker and what the first one ended up meaning to so many people the second one is basically here's what would happen if a really depressed dude committed murders and it's just pretty much a realistic top to bottom for trail of what would actually happen to somebody who's like him he's not some Rogue he's not some Champion he's not some Society tearing down whatever he's just a guy who lived a pathetic life and died a pathetic death and in between that he got to see how his actions did affect other people's lives and I think one interesting part about that is that he could not fathom the idea that he negatively affected other people's lives like the guy he let go in the first movie essentially this sequel says no this is just the story of a very sick human being and the people who projected something on to him that he wasn't both in the audience and in the movie were only ever going to be disappointed because he's just Arthur flick

The movie doesn't let Arthur experience the full consequences of his actions. The actual consequence would be for him to live with the fact that he made society turn for the worse even though he personally can't abide that people are e mean to each other (the laughing tick he has). But he never finds himself in that position, he never is being confronted with this impact he actually has on society and finally he gets the easy way out.

Didn't believed the critics, didn't believed the ratings, so i watched it... and i wish i didn't. I'll just pretend this movie never existed, much better that way instead of the disgrace it did to the first one's legacy.

It's joker 2 and it's maybe the worst movie I've seen this year.

Pedro pascal is an overrated mid actor, i'm growing tired to see him like he is a fast food easy win for getting audience. And i agree with your analysis, this movie feels very cheaply made and rushed. It looks more like a quick cash grab borderline parody of what gladiator is, more like a cinematical demake at a lot of levels then a sequel.
