I am a right-handed southpaw. My grandpa trained me how to box. He was a right-handed southpaw. You are exactly right pivot circle to the right or the left. I can still land the right hand in front of the Orthodox fighter keeping my distance with a job all while using my right hand in the front. As soon as they come inside, upper cuts, jabs, straight right hand Leads straight through the guard. Every time. Every Fight. I never lost anything. Stick. move . counter.. the secret weapon is the sniper right hand. Peekaboo guard. Right hand. I can still throw with the left. But the right is my power shot. The opponent is confused. Here comes the right hook.

They told us that because they have their favourites (or family members) in the gym and didn't want to see them get slapped around. 😂 And yes you are correct when you switch to orthodox you will learn how to change levels n slip shots a lot better on the inside but if you had just stayed Southpaw you can punch with them n probably beat 90% of people the left hand is 100% accurate. IMO it takes years to learn to fight the wrong way but when you do you're a switch hitter and completed it. 😊

right handed southpaw= right hand dominant, already strong and hooks are fast and efficient. Left hand/ nondom hand= Power hand and makes it more effective. the way a fight will play out strategy wise is also different and most people are right handed fighting orthodox and are less likely to understand how to fight a southpaw. All advantages are in the hands of the one who is good at many things and not just a master of one. Understand both ways, learn how to fight both and how to employ both. then find the wisdom to know when to apply each method.

I think most trainers that used to fight be a bit punchy. And they believe they should inherit the next crop of fighters to reep the benefits of finance because of their sacrifice. But a lot of times they lack the thought process of success because naturally Hurt people Hurt people.. so what's good forthem is good for you mentality. But what do I know. Ask Andre Ward trainer...or Shakur Stev enson trainer...or Shane Mosely dad.

That’s a good question I think if you spent the time in the gym under a master trainer studying game, I think you can be a great training of course if you’ve been in the ring that gives you an advantage but that doesn’t guarantee you’re gonna be a good Trainer. It just means you’ve been in a ring being a good train is more than just being a fighter. It’s really about understanding circumstances and situations and everybody can’t be a trainer like Everybody can’t fighter.
