Hey I’m doing this job but the bolt is very tough to tighten while reinstalling the balancer did you run into this issue?

Hello @LuckiiChris , it may seem that way. First torque it to spec. Did you? Then turn 180deg. This is the hard part. You will need leverage. See the beginning of the video for what I used as leverage. If you cannot go much beyond120degrees, don't sweat it.

Hi @tildzo9470 , did you prime it? This means, once the pump or filter is replaced, turn the key to position 2 (right before starting the car), and keep it there for a few secs. Yet better, instruct someone else to do that while your ear stays by the pump. You should hear it pump. If you don't, check the electric connections at the pump.

Thank you Masood: One more detailed, very supportive video! Compared to a service manual work sheet, these not only show what to do, but how to do it. In your former version on a W220, you did support the transmission under the bell housing, this time under the pan. Why so?
@masood-tv15 күн бұрын
Hi @michelcroteau538 , you are an astute observer. I prefer supporting it under the bell housing unless the pan will be dropped for a filter change, which I did later on this car. I just think the pan gasket gets squeezed beyond the recommended pan cover's torque value. Many mechanics use the pan for support, so it probably works in most cases. But, I can see if the gasket has not been changed for a long time, the additional pressure and relief may damage the gasket and cause leaks. So, to all reading, use the bell housing instead.

Might want to add. Sometimes its not enough to just replace the connector. I did that and it was still leaking. In that case its the conductor plate on top of the valve body where this connector threads into. Not super expensive or difficult, but will have to drain the transmission and take the valve body out to replace the plate.

Why would you even hint at a supplier that has no BBB accreditation, number one, awful client reviews at 1/5 stars everywhere, etc. there are people who naively trust public individuals such as yourself, who I might add make a profit based on that trust, who know either not enough to do the research I did (and you should have done before promoting this online parts store) or don’t know better? I have “liked” several of your videos the last year or so since my dad owns a W220, but I must say I’m very disappointed as I was this close to following your advice blindly, but was kept by the overwhelming negative reviews everywhere. I hope you reconsider editing this video, otherwise I think your followers should be made aware of, or given at least some kind of warnings. I truly hope you’ll look into this, wether they’re sponsoring or you decide not to disclose said info, as to how inconvenient it may be to follow your advice, at least as it pertains to this single video.
@masood-tvАй бұрын
Hello, I have not been sponsored by any of the suppliers I list in my videos. I am not making any profit as you suggest. I only recommend those whose products I use. For German cars, I have always recommended fcpruro, autohausaz, pelicanparts. Usually, one above the others due to availability or better pricing. I am sorry if your experience with autohausaz differs. I have always had the right products delivered on time and for good prices. But, I will not delete your comment so that future viewers are aware of your feedback. Thank you for that.

Hi Masood - Again, thanks for the detailed video. Unlike yours and other guidelines available, like the ones by Arnott, Bilstein, wiki page, etc., the MB Star worksheet recommends removing the rear shock by disconnecting the spring control arm (and thrust arm) from the AXLE carrier, not the WHEEL carrier. According to your experience, what are the advantages / drawbacks of both methods?
@masood-tvАй бұрын
Hi Michel, I have never tried it the other way. On the surface, it seems it should be easier to remove the carrier side. However, regardless of which end, the nut has to be loosened at the other to create enough slack to remove and replace the shock.
