Important point for women: A large, not-talked-about reason for the wage gap is because women are far more likely to ask for something "reasonable" and devalue themselves. Men are more likely to ask for what they believe they are worth, which is normally more or higher up in the company's budget for you. When you throw out a number, the hiring authority SHOULD flinch. Let them tell you the max THEY can pay. You don't need to be cautious. You look like a money sign to them. Theyre not your broke friend. You don't need to look after their pockets In business and as an investor, we say if we make an offer, and they accept it with no problem, that's what they were hoping you'd say for THEIR max benefit. Not equal benefit. Means you offered too low

I am so proud for you I’m going through the same thing right now and Iam amazed. It’s crazy how most of the people in the military try to scare you and say your going to struggle then soon as you get out you have high 5 and 6 figure jobs blowing your phone up ! Lol for those of you out there trying to start a new life don’t let fear stop your blessing !

Thank you for this video, I’m very excited and happy for your success. I’ve been thinking of leaving the military (hm2) and don’t really know which route I would like to take. Thinking of completely switching my career to a more technical/computer science/analyst/admin centered job. My EAOS is a year and a half of from now. On top of that, I’m currently 1-2 years away from my math degree and really looking for a job that will give me the time to start and finish my masters after regular working hours. Could you tell me the name of the position you skill bridged for please? Thank you!

OMG You hit so many emotional trigger points within me in this post. I really can relate to every single talking point you discussed, especially at the end when you spoke about "success" and it essentially being relative. I have struggled so much internally with the idea of success, my career aspirations, burden of financial debt, etc. After going through school and serving in the Air Force over 9 years, I am finally attempting to take steps towards my own version of success - Sustainable happiness is tranquility, peace, and comfort in this world filled with social abnormalities, biases, and economic inequality. Thank you so much for affirming my outlook on this subject and being transparent with your journey. Peace and prosperity, love!

Wow. Thank you so much for sharing. It means so much to me because sometimes we can feel alone in our thoughts and we don’t know we aren’t until someone else shares. I’m so glad it resonated with you . And over 9 years in service whew you go !

I absolutely agree with you, especially towards the end when you mention success. 2018 I registered my business under "Guided By Success" the brands philosophy is based on the same idea you mentioned here! Out journey towards our version of success is what guides us into making certain decisions and taking certain actions. Although there are few KZbinr's talking about skillbridge I'm glad I came across your story. Definitely a motivational boost😃

This video was RIGHT ON TIME. I’ve been in the Air Force 19 years 4 months and have said for a long time imma do at least 24 years…. But I been waking up recently feeling it’s time to go. I’ve lost the happiness in my heart for what I’ve done so long and with a nervousness I looked in the mirror and faced the fact it’s time to hang up the uniform with all the uncertainties. Your video has encouraged me and enhanced my faith that it will be alright. This wk I’m going to start taking the steps for what I need to do to get ready to retire… skill bridge and all that… thank you I appreciate you taking the time to share

I’m so glad this video helped you. Change can be so scary. It was for me and I was only in for four years so I can imagine your anxiousness about getting out. However, to be in for as long as you have you seem to be a certain caliber person. Hardworking and diligent along with a plethora of skill sets you’ve gain form the military. Therefore, it is inevitable that you will be successful out of the military.
