i like on Elins channel when he replaced floor pans he pounded the sheet metal to have the ridges in the floor pan as the factory had it. wasn't perfect, but it looked much better than welding in a flat piece. who knows maybe i'll see you at the bronte british car show in canada.... bout forty five minutes from niagara falls. cheers,
@GregODay10 ай бұрын
Yea that would be allot of work to do but I am thinking of getting the pans and do it right. I will have to look into that car show. I am over an hour from Buffalo just South of Erie Pa so if I would make the trip It would a over night trip and I probable would tow the Spit! Cheers!

so the seats are 1990-1995 miata M edition seats. they have an adjustable headrest similar to the factory spitfire and look nice in a spitfire. but they might be sort of hard to locate.... it might just be better to recover factory seats. cheers.
@GregODay10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the fast reply! I may see if I can find some before recovering the factory seats since it may be cheaper to go that route. Recovering and re-padding the factory seat will be close to 1K.

admire your commitment to pushing vids out. we had our TG up here in canada much earlier as it gets cold up here sooner, but hope you had a good TG. the floor is in not bad shape. grind away what rust you can and chemically treat the rest. i used to like por fifteen type paint, but have since used something called masterkote. which i found on steves project car garage - he's restoring a spitfire that was in much much much worse shape. i tried it and i like it more as to me it has a more tenacious grip. it adheres and won't peel even if surface wasn't treated correctly. if you top coat it with something like these types of coatings i wouldn't worry too much about the tiny holes. these coatings will cover them up. and you might know already bigger holes can be welded closed. the floor to rocker area needs to be looked at. i like the original seats too. miata seats go too high and make the car look funny. there are miata seats from 1997 i think, that look more like spitfire seats. a one year only seat and look great in a spitfire. i'm a tall dude and miata seats are too thick for me, but you should be fine. you could even take those miata seats and if you're good with sewing cut the backrest down to a better looking height. cheers.

Yes are TG was a good one!! I am planning on cutting out and replace the rotted steel but I am going to look into Masterkote it sounds like it will do the trick. Yes I watch Steves Project Garage and also watch Rusty Buetys and learn allot from them. If there is seats from a 97 Miata that look good I may go that route. I am 6 ft but having shorts seats is a must. Oh by the way I just subbed to your channel. Thanks for watching and Cheers!!

Pretty good video even if it is now 4 years old ! If you would have removed the 4 bolts facing you to remove the backing plate you could have gotten to the 2 cylinder bolts and the brake line a lot easier.

Glad I ran into this. This is what I thought was wrong with mine. It doesn't die coming to a stop, but seems like she wants to. I had that same vacuum hose cracked, and couldn't find the entire hose, so I just bought the ends from the parts store. I know it's an old video and you likely don't have the car anymore, but I just figured I'd chime in. Thank you.

Had heated hose plugged in and generator is down. I as able to winterize and hopefully save our water pipes until it warms back up in a few days

You should have provided gloves for her to do the oil change before you guys actually started the job. Asking her if she wants gloves when you are already in the middle of the oil change is a no go. She got dirty oil all over her hands which is carcinogenic.

Thank you for the video. I haven't started on my 1993 Chevy 3500 until cooler weather. Have you ever had a problem starting your truck after running it say to a store and then it won't start until it cools down for about 4 hours? I haven't found any mech that knows about diesel engines in my small town.

My 03 Cavalier 2.2 is starting to do the runs rough when a.c. is on and driving (Not as much at idle) and the air gets warm when in park. I hope this is the fix because I have a 04 2.2 for a parts car and compressor swaps are a huge pain.
