Thank you for this informative video - I've watched a few other videos on this subject, but with yours I 'got it' right away. I am now confident that I can tell if my saffron is real or not (it is also useful to have a suggested brand of authentic saffron, instead of the 'hit-and-miss' commercial market). If I may make a suggestion; I found the music volume distracting, I might have enjoyed it if the current volume setting was cut in half. My intent is to be helpful (I have PTSD, a medical condition that sometimes makes noises or loud volume painful), I like your video very much, my best to you.

actually the best method is to test the saffron using whole threads, both pure and adulterated saffron will release color immediately when in powder form. When testing whole threads in cold water, real saffron slowly releases its yellow hue, whereas fake saffron bleeds its color immediately

Original saffron: Can be used in zaffrani chai and other kashmiri recipes where the saffron flavour is necessary. Fake saffron: Usefull in biryani and other foods where the colouring gets preference.

Doesn't matter what we get on the market, everything can be faked nowadays. With the best characteristics and flavours. It just needs some more work and once it is done, the production with flow like water. Food mafia is everywhere. We can't escape it unless we turn back to our old traditions. Where we used to farm and wait patiently until we earn our living. But now, time is money, that's our weakness.

Our economic system, capitalism, is responsible for this ☹️ It puts profit over wellbeing & human/societal good. Profits over human rights. Humans were meant to live communally & with extended families for support. I come from America where hyper-individualism has poisoned our entire society. It's very sad!! You're right - the food mafia is corporations. They've bought out & forced out individual farmers, especially in America actual family farmers are basically nonexistent. 😞 Monsanto & others sued & took their land(read about it, it's a horrible story!). They're now trying to do the same in India, where I live now(husband is South Indian). I support the family farmers always!! ✊ Thankfully it seems that ppl are starting to shift their perspectives bc they're seeing how bad things have become. Homesteading, family farming is coming back! 🙏🏻❤ Ppl want *natural* food & medicine again! 👨‍🌾 I myself am starting to make herbal tinctures & amma(mother in law) has a wonderful garden which we make our food from! But I'm very lucky, most city ppl don't have that option ☹️ Less citizen owned land & healthy/real food is too expensive. The processed food is cheaper. 😞 So we need to stick together & stop fighting one another over politics! When we're divided the ruling class wins & steals more of our land, poisons us with 0piates - see American 0piate epidemic, I've lost at least 8 friends/family to it - just for profit. The ruling class is legitimately evil! 🤬 EVERYONE, HUG YOUR FAMILY & NEIGHBORS! 🤗❤🙏🏻 We are in this together! Offer food & companionship with your family & neighbors! Sending love to everyone! Return to natural! ❤🌿👨‍🌾 also HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT!
