She is wonderful. She reminds me so much of 'nightbyrd'. I hope and pray the outcome is better for young Emma; that God hears our prayers for her recovery to full heath, and grants her a long and happy life. We need to see some tender mercy from God. Oft times I fear He's taken an extended vacation. He needs it certainly, but we can feel His absence. Emma is evidence that God is generous, but please, Dear Lord,....let US keep her for another 90 years!

The little lad (1:39) looking back wondering why he had to leave that money in the hat added a lovely touch of innocent humanity to a truly breathtaking musical performance

Not a real Flashmob, all the people standing on the balcony waiting for the event. But very good performance, Beethoven lives forever!

Hear the power of the instrument while witnessing the emotion of the conductor. Marvelous
just stumbled across this video and I saw this in person. I was down at the IDS center for a job interview and came out, feeling good, and this hit me about right when the cellos joined... just had to stop.

I'm a (middlin') cellist, but 2 things in this that I listen to are the bassoon, and the timpani lines. In this performance, when the choir joined, I involuntarily burst into tears. Haven't had that happen in a long while. Well done! Very well done!

Remember: Ludwig van Beethoven wrote the music when he was already deaf. The lyrics were written by Friedrich Schiller (peom: "Ode an die Freude"; Engl.: "Ode to Joy").

To think this masterpiece, heard countless times in all corners of our planet was only heard by the composer in his mind. A man agonizing with the loss of his hearing but instead of wallowing in sadness, he created the ode to joy.

This is so awesome that I revisit it all the time and end up playing it over and over again. I get really emotional watching this brilliant vlog. I wish rhis could happen all the time all over the world. Then maybe we could unite together and end wars and hunger and poverty and just live in peace.

Joyful, Joyful We adore Thee (Ode to Joy) 🇪🇺 Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven) Words by Henry van Dyke (1907) 1 Joyful, joyful, we adore You, God of glory, Lord of love; Hearts unfold like flow'rs before You, Op'ning to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; Drive the dark of doubt away; Giver of immortal gladness, Fill us with the light of day! 2 All Your works with joy surround You, Earth and heav'n reflect Your rays, Stars and angels sing around You, Center of unbroken praise; Field and forest, vale and mountain, Flow'ry meadow, flashing sea, Chanting bird and flowing fountain Praising You eternally! 3 Always giving and forgiving, Ever blessing, ever blest, Well-spring of the joy of living, Ocean-depth of happy rest! Loving Father, Christ our Brother, Let Your light upon us shine; Teach us how to love each other, Lift us to the joy divine. 4 Mortals, join the mighty chorus, Which the morning stars began; God's own love is reigning o’er us, Joining people hand in hand. Ever singing, march we onward, Victors in the midst of strife; Joyful music leads us sunward In the triumph song of life.
