I had to come back to this video to say: Britt-Marie is my mother in law 😂😂😂 I’m not joking, she says the same stuff, she worries about the same issues (to her) and I’m having a blast with the book, so much so that I woke up my kids one morning because I was laughing out loud without noticing how loud I was, and my daughter is like… (half awake) mom, what’s so funny? 😂 Having said that, I got the audiobook from Libby while doing animal chores around the farm, and I was ugly crying by the time she explains to the agency lady why she was looking for a job at 63. I knew why, you told us here I believe, or maybe in another video where you mentioned this book, but the way she explained the heart attack, the laundry, and finally her fear of dying ( in detail), I was carrying hay and had to drop it to clean my tears…. I felt like I just met her, I thought she was a cranky old and funny lady, now I can see why she adopted those behaviors and ideas. We all cope with what is dealt to us in different ways, she cleaned windows, and care about the silverware storage, organization etc… I’m sure she is real, Fredrik Backman met this lady and put a spin to write this story…. Thanks for the recommendation, I’m now reading Beartown at the same time and I can see why this author is one of your favorites. I did not care about the hockey story, but you are right it’s not about hockey, it’s something he used (IMO) to fulfill a purpose in this story, now I need everyone to read these books! Thank you again! I just had to share my first day with Britt-Marie with you… and yes, I called her Britt-Marie, because the only one who called her Britt was her sister ❤ 😊

I’m reading long bright river and it’s such a good book, it’s making me feel “all the feelings” and see different people I’ve met in these characters, like the police partner who sees people with addiction Like the worst of humanity, the sister seeing the other side, and most importantly, making me so much more aware of the pain in an addict’s family, the background, kids being raised by grandparents… I can keep going. Here in Oregon my heart aches every time I see these “kids” living in the streets, and makes my eyes “water” when I think about his/her parents, but reality is, some of them come from addiction too, and these “kids” don’t know any better, there are exceptions, but it’s sooo common to see generations and generations struggling with addiction. Thank you for the recommendation, I listen to the audiobook while I milk in the morning and my goats look at me like… is there anything wrong? And I’m like, yes! Lots of things! 😂 Now I added these to my TBR and I’ll share them with our book clubs at the library! Thank you for sharing Ps: I’m still reading my fantasy book with my son, but have you read “the girl who fell beneath the sea” by Axie Oh!? I haven’t finished it but I’m loving it 😍 Thanks Deborah! My favorite thriller is no exit by Taylor Adams. I started reading Hellbent by Leigh Bardugo today, only to realize it’s book 2 in a series, so now I’m looking into the Ninth House, which is book one. Any recommendations for fantasy books? I haven’t read much fantasy but my son is trying to get into it, ( he is 23) so km trying to find books we can both read and talk about, hoping that will encourage him. We are trying to establish what he likes, this far, I think, maybe something that includes dragons, kingdoms and stuff like that. Any series you’d recommend we start with? Another question for the q & a, do you track your reading in an app? How many hours do you read a week? Do you read everyday? Thank you!!!

I forgot to ask… could you do a series or video recommending the best of thrillers, romance, magical realism etc? You read a lot of different genres, and I find myself going back to your video about your favorite non fiction books and it helps a lot… Just an idea! I also loved the videos you mentioned that you will do soon, like, reading the first sentence. Also would you be open to a q & an and maybe share some stuff about reading, like, how long it takes you to “get into a book”? Or how long you read before you DNF? How do you find inspiration on what to read next? Do you use kindle unlimited? Do you have recommendations there? Best books you read there? I feel like you have all stars rating at the end of the month, and I’m such a quitter 😂 it’s like you give me 5 stars vibes soon or I can’t waste my time kind of thing! 🫣 I want to stop that! I hope you see this comment ❤

I'm trying to get back into reading so I've challenged myself to read at least one new book each month and for April I started reading Pale Fire by Vladimir Nabokov and I couldn't get into it the first time (because I also had another book going) but the second time around was absolutely amazing it's about three stories in one told thru the narrative of a guy annotating his best friends poem and it's extremely captivating once you zone in, highly recommend
