Roy Innis was ready to fight. But it got out of hand when tried to choke one of them.

I remember this series and recall enjoying it. I've always liked Cavett, too, and this was something quite different for him at that time in his career, in the period, I believe, after his years as a talk-show host had ended or were winding-down. He still appears to be in the prime of life here. I like the way he was integrated occasionally into the old film-footage. Surprisingly, though, I found this episode rather disappointing. The early portion was quite interesting & fun but after it became a succession of movie preview clips, examples of relatively modern TV commercials, many of which I vaguely recall, it seemed to become a different program. It no longer was a documentary on the history of advertising, just a run of aimless film clips that didn't really illuminate much. Can't quite explain but somehow I didn't feel the need to stick with it. Perhaps I'll go back to it eventually. There's another similar series that Cavett hosted back around the same time as "RW", titled "Time Was". I wonder if it's the same series under a different name? I actually seem to recall it. Found it on You Tube here somewhere recently but haven't yet checked out any of the entries. I'll do so shortly.

Chuck and Carradine make the fight scene so realistic back then, it still one of the best today.

I highly doubt it was skinheads that attacked the white couple, it makes no sense. I'm sure it was just a bunch of drunk ignorant losers. He even said one of the attackers was Jewish. Skins have probably killed 10 people in the last 30 years, black thugs kill hundreds every single day in this country. The double standards are sickening. PRIDE IS NOT HATE, TRUTH IS NOT RACISM!

I can almost guarantee that the two young brunette 'Aryan' guys have Jewish ancestry. Shame on people who hate others for skin/ race/ religion. I hope the young Nazi guys grew up and out of that bizarre mentality. Does anyone have any present information about these misled fellas?

Amazing 34 years ago! After just graduating high school Geraldo was not my top priority, but I do remember when it happened because of the publicity. I remember thinking the white supremacist were three ignorant clowns and I feel the exact same way today! I would love to get a bio of their last 34 years just to see if the light ever went off in their head?
