This is nice, but I don’t quite see the point of it being electric propulsion if it still depends on gas for the cooker, diesel for the heating, and a generator to run everything. Wouldn’t a diesel engine with a good hospital-grade silencer be a simpler and more cost-effective solution? Unless you're getting 12 hours of sunlight a day, I’m struggling to see the environmental benefits in the UK climate, especially when you consider the mining of lithium and other minerals, as well as the additional technology required to make it all work. just seems like more to go wrong

Agree it seems a strange mixture of electric, gas and diesel. I'm 100% in favour of electric propulsion, from an ambience point of view but this boat seems to be a real miss mash of systems which don't really interact/support each other. Apart from that, its a nice boat.

I don’t like the layout either not that I know anything about narrow boats but I would have done from stern kitchen,living area bathroom and then the bedroom

Could you not spray foam directly on the steel floor for insulation, then add a wet underfloor heating system with a polished concrete floor on top? Thermal bridging is reduced, you eliminate radiators freeing up space and the concrete weight has a purpose and looks lovely with rugs.

For christs s... I am interested in living on a narrowboat yes - and price is the main factor. How about giving us a clue? Or do you want a constant stream of phone calls? Plus I was watching on the tv app, switched to the phone, couldnt find the video on yer site, went to pc, couldnt find the video on yer site, had to do a specific search to find it - all in the certainty that there would be some sort of price guide in the details. Nope. Nice boat, really nice boat, useless video. Forgive the salt, but what a waste of my time.

Mixing fresh water & canal water, what's the filter system , how often do the filters need cleaning , changing, what when they're not performing at 100% ? When I see what goes into the canal including what the cows deposit into the water. The boat looks very nice but the water system not for me.

We chose the set up for reasons of redundancy, the port tank is filled from CRT tap and supplies drinking water and dishwasher, the stbd tank is supplied by the Water Freedom system and is the higher use tank (shower / washing machine). The water freedom system is a 2 stage system with 8 separate filters and a uv pass through. We test the water regularly and it usually beats the score of the CRT supply! Right now we are stuck on the Trent in flood with zero prospect of getting to a shore supply and the system has been invaluable - but of course it’s not for everyone and I agree - there are plenty of of stretches where we would be unhappy using the system.

Interesting. Some ideas I had considered. I have been looking at a US sound insulating material called green glue in addition to rubber and thinsulation - Green glue seems very effective. I also want a MHRVAC system too. Has ovation fitted any on a narrow boat?

Hi - we are the new owners of this boat and an HVAC system was something about which we thought during the planning stage. I guess the truth is that there are only a few days a year in the uk when you need extra cooling. Our view was that roof real estate was best utilised by maximising the solar potential. We do have an ecowave 2 ac unit which we use in our current boat but we have only broken that out a couple of times in the UK weather. The max air fan forward on the new boat will draw a lot of air through on warm days/evenings and we have allowed for a lot of ventilation from large side apertures. All the best Nigel and Ann

Had some wine so here's my 2 cents. You don't need that many radiators in a narrowboat. Feed them from the gunwales and you can get rid of that boxing on the floor. Subway tiles in a shower cubicle, Use the flat ones not the bevelled, then you don't have issues where the two sides meet in the corner.

The boat looks stunning. I hope the owner has many restful years aboard in which to be thankful for the privilege of traveling the canals. From the design on the side of the boat I can see that the famous and historic Rest and be Thankful pass road near Loch Croe is the inspiration for such an apt name.
