I don't rely on people telling me stuff is untrue if they don't have proof either for or against..,and there's more proof to its validity than proof against. M. Kurtz refered to it as his little baby and he was emotionally attached to it. That doesn't sound like somebody that put a piece of crap in a hole. You didn't benefit from it at all so why would even do a fake. I believe in because I don't believe in it and I am against journalistic integrity. There is much more proof of "problematica" than that little artifact.

Any hardwood floors are going to start to buckle with constant moisture. I can't understand how they could have built anything when they tested for moisture after just pouring the slab. Anyone building a house would have been alarmed even as early as the foundation.

What's kind of amazing to consider is around 100 years ago people used to traverse down Marsh Creek and the Middle Fork all the way to the confluence with the main Salmon in wooden boats.

So glad this man is safe! Dude must have been tough as nails. BUT, a few survival bits in his lifejacket pockets would have made all the difference. A small ferro rod, a Bic lighter, a pocket knife, an emergency blanket would have helped and not weighed too much. And a PLB like a Garmin InReach Mini in a waterproof bag tucked inside. Mother Nature doesn't give two hoots about us. Play safe and have fun!

Also, never boat on a river with recent debris flows and new log jams. This was well known. The storms that produced these geological features happened last August. The river system is very dynamic now after all the fires, and then intense thunderstorms. Pay heed to mother nature.

I somewhat agree. I wouldn't close it completely but perhaps charge people a small fee to be able to enter. Have someone stationed at the entrance collecting the money and keeping an eye on the place. Lock it over night. I think if it even costs the state a little money, it's better then letting something like that be destroyed. Just think how much they will likely have to spend trying to restore those caves for future visitors. You know it's going to happen sooner or later. I've heard there is evidence that humans are an intelligent species, I'm still looking for that evidence as thus far I've seen quite the opposite.
