I started my locs when I was in grad school (1990). My locs were started with small to slightly medium braids and as my hair grew out, I would twist the roots counter clock wise because my hair would stay in that formation longer. I had 350 braids started from a short afro. I used very little product, only oil to my scalp and a weekly shampoo when my hair started to loc. At that time, you used natural products to care for your locs. My hair grew out beautiful, strong and full. In 2010, it was time to say good bye. I wanted to see and deal with my free natural hair! Enjoy your locs and embrace the journey.

Oh whoa! You are an OG when it comes to locs! Thank you for sharing🤗🤗, I really appreciate it. I love it, it fits my current lifestyle..😊 the less effort got me hooked.
@dimplesbrown9290 Жыл бұрын
That is what hooked me, less effort! but also the beauty of the locs. Slowly, products became available by late 90's through the 2000's. I incorporated a few products that I felt would benefit my hair but I remained a minimaless for the most part. My locs grew long and strong however by year 15, I noticed changes and by year 20, I big chopped to a short afro. My loc journey sustained and carried me for 20 years. Natural hair is beautiful, loc'd or free. Enjoy the journey.@@Jumieanne

first to comment. hi Jumie, great video as usual. would love to try your products some time. I find water gets my hair dry, I try adding leave and oil to it but it doesn't work for me. i prefer using the leave in straight. your hair is gorgeous BTW
