Espero me puedan ayudar, saludos.

Given the remarkable specifications of an ultrasonic meter vs its mechanical counterparts that you have shown in the video, why is the adoption of mechanical meters still so dominant these days? One commonly cited reason is cost BUT from this video shown, it seems to suggest the cost of a static meter (ultrasonic in this case) is say 1.5x the cost of a mechanical meter. So is this 1.5x or maybe 2x cost the main 'hold back' factor for water utilities in adopting ultrasonic meters? A further add-on question would be: Are there other types of costs involved in the whole meter installation and usage, that could potentially be stopping water utilities from rapidly increasing their adoption of ultrasonic meters? Are ultrasonic meters more costly to install (or has this cost been factored into the 1.5x that was stated in the video)? Great video and explanation, appreciate it!

Very insightful and concise video! On the second way of purchasing a fixed network, could you please elaborate a little further on the Network-as-a-Service part? EDITED the below 1. If I, the water utility, gets into a NaaS contract with the manufacturer (I presume this is Badger?), I do not have to worry about building and maintaining this fixed network. This will come with a monthly NaaS subscription fee, is that correct? 2. If my part 1 above is correct, I saw there is a BEACON SaaS offering. If I were to subscribe to BEACON, does that mean I have to pay a NaaS and BEACON SaaS subscription fee? Do let me know if any parts above on my understanding is wrong, thank you!

In positive displacement meters, exactly what volume of the chamber is being displaced? I reckon this volume is constant at any flow rate because, say for the nutating disc meter it still sends magnetic signals to the register can, am I correct? I have a lot of questions, I hope we can connect.

The model 25 disc meter can be installed in vertical position?
@Badger_Meter Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your interest. Recordall Disc series meters are designed to be installed horizontally. Here is a snippet from the installation manual: Install the meter in the pipeline in a horizontal position so that the flow arrow on the meter housing points in the same direction as water flow. Registration should be upright and protected from damage, freezing, and tampering. If you have additional questions, please contact our Technical Support team: www.badgermeter.com/technical-support/. We are happy to help.

I pray that you are still reading the comments on here. We need some help and some advice. In the village where w live they are trying to force Smart Water meters on us. They don't have a clue what they are. The town guy told us that we could have the radio reader put on a pole outside of our home and connect it with a wire underground. When i asked him where the meter would be he said, in your crawl space under your house. Am I crazy or would this not protect us at all because the meter would still be under our feet and transmitting to the reader? It is an AMI iPERL by Sensus. I hope to get a response soon as they are going to switch our water of end of March. thanks for any light you can shed on this.

The meter itself should not have any cellular or radio frequency signals or capabilities in it. It has a wire that leads to the cellular/RF endpoint. That is what sends a signal. The meter in your crawlspace will not emit any radio or cellular signal. The reading device outside however does, and honestly the radio frequency given off from the endpoint is nowhere near the magnitude that your cellphone gives off. Many people are concerned about this but cellular/Radio frequency water meter devices poses a minimal if any at all health concerns. I wouldn’t worry about it at all.

Hi is there a device you can add to an existing water meter that you can then use in conjunction with a tracking/reading app?

Many utilities today provide access to your meter reading through a consumer portal or smart phone app. Badger Meter provides this access through our EyeOnWater consumer portal. You can find more information here: www.badgermeter.com/products/analytics-software/eyeonwater-consumer-engagement/ Please reach out to your water utility to inquire about access.

I saw a video, in which the tech used a blow drier to operate an electronic meter. How come? Does this mean that when the pipes are empty (no water) that air pressure will cause the meter to show water was consumed?
@menachemzakai34742 жыл бұрын
Morrice- Great video! Isn't another difference between mechanical and elecronic meters is that the air that travels through the pipe will be measured along with water by a mechanical meter, since it picks up volume and doesnt know to differientiate between the volume of air and water, while the electronic meter only registers the flow of water since it only measures the velocity of flow? what do you think? Am I wrong?
@chitstorm89272 жыл бұрын
A very excellent presentation. I have a question: Since it appears that total flow is registered at the turbine meter, is the disc meter only used for monitoring that percentage of the total flow through the disc meter, or is it necessary to read both meters to determine total flow?
