Her dialogue outside about Maoris once were warriors, with mana (pride), always brings tears to my eyes. Im not Maori, but I know a few and have worked with a bunch of them. Such a powerful scene, loaded with deep meaning and profound significance, and she does justice to those lines.

Saw this in Adelaide Australia when it came out. At the end the theatre lights came on and the audience sat there in stunned silence and disbelief. No one moved. Never saw a movie do that

Absolutely brilliant film! And if you ever get to watch the reunion with these guys, how they got into character etc. Amazing. This giu who played Jake NOBODY in the crew thought he was right for the role. They thought he was too nice. Grace had NEVER even acted before, she went with a friend to rhe audition and waited outside playin basketball then they went outside and called her to audition which she refused at 1st and got the role
