Please help! We purchased this and upon putting it on, bent the contact on the main (male?) plug! Perhaps we pushed it in wrong. Husband fixed the bent receptor but should not have done that. Any suggestions? We do have the bypass fuses which I guess we'll stick with. Thank you!

OMG, so sorry. If it's the terminal posts on the Nappy Camper plug, only thing I could suggest is bend it back in place. Only other option I can think of would be to solder something similar if there is still some post left in the cap, but that would take some creativity.

Thanks for sharing but this is not an SUV tent. This is more of a SUV enclosure. We have a tent that hooks to the SUV and it is a true tent. But this one is an interesting alternative.
@thecampingpost

@@cyndyjohannsen1856 I totally get what you mean, especially since most of the structure is the vehicle itself. Really just a question of semantics, but I would say it does fall under the definition of a tent and it’s what the manufacturer calls it. Tent: “a collapsible shelter of fabric (such as nylon or canvas) stretched and sustained by poles and used for camping outdoors or as a temporary building” So many options these days. My buddy has cot that is a tent. Is it a cot or a tent ?🤯🤣 In all seriousness though, your feedback is greatly appreciated 🙏🏼😊

Just tried one of these with my wife. 1 thing I found is that there is a lot of noise and movement when going to sleep and the other person is already asleep. I feel like a table or even another tent may be needed to store all your stuff because if it's in the front and someone is sleeping then you'll have to close and open the doors and make more noise. Not 100% sold on this set up yet but it is cool.
@thecampingpost
@thecampingpost Ай бұрын
Welcome to car camping!! 🤣 We experience the same thing in our travel trailer or even in a tent. When everyone is sharing the same sleeping space, there will always be disturbances to one another. I feel like that's just part of camping. For me, the best use of this tent will be for quick one person set ups on short overnight trips, where you just need a quick space to sleep. For gear, we will be utilizing 2 large bins on a hitch basket. One for gear, the other for food items. The biggest benefit here for me is being able to have a small tent in the back of my SUV for spontaneous camping trips.

It’s not like ya get a lot of extra room but a little vestibule where you can shuck off your wet clothes and boots without dragging it all inside. Some shade when it’s sunny and a screen door to boot. It’s less than $60 so it’s not like it’s gonna break the bank. You can still stay stealthy when you need to and bring this out when you don’t. If my plans to get an element work out I will probably get one. It doesn’t take up enough room to worry about.

Lowering the jack farther reduces the stability of the jack. I use several wide blocks under mine so I do not have to extend the jack as far. This is much more stable. Attaching such a “tall” block directly to the jack foot would reduce ground clearance when traveling. The drill and adaptor make it quick and I don’t mind the little extra time to get a more stable trailer. The increased storage space by attaching the blocks to the feet would be nice, but not worth the risk of damaging my jacks if they hang down and hit something. I hope this continues to work for you, and thanks for sharing.
@thecampingpost
@thecampingpost 2 ай бұрын
@@Rooster0529 thanks for the feedback. From time to time we do use additional stabilizer blocks underneath, particularly in the back. We tend to camp at a lot of our Virginia state parks and many of their sites are pretty level. I totally agree that not having to extend the jacks does provide more stability. Thanks for sharing! 😄

@@KatJ-k4h We post the videos cuz there were none when we got our and had so much to learn. No solar package but it’s on the list. Dealer put on a WDH with sway bars, but we don’t use it. I take back roads, so not going super fast and many of the roads are twisty. I didn’t like it. I don’t believe Intech had them in mind since these are smaller and light weight trailers. They started putting on reinforcement plates since so many folks started using them. It’s a hot debate. Some love them some don’t. I personally don’t think it’s necessary. However, there are many factors to consider so keep researching. We tow with a Honda Pilot. We love our Dawn and it’s pretty easy to set up and maintain. ♥️
