Mam ogromną prośbę o kontakt w sprawie tego występu Autechre. [email protected] To nagranie to jedyny unikat jaki znam z tego live-actu. Uważam ten występ za najlepszy na jakim byłem kiedykolwiek. Czy masz może więcej fragmentów tego livu? Na razie Ae nie wydali tego i nie wiadomo czy kiedykolwiek wydadzą ten niesamowity materiał.

It's interesting to say the least.... However it gives me this slightly "creeped-out" feeling - does anybody else get that?? Like I would not listen to this song in a dark room all alone - it just makes me feel really.... like "empty".... It's hard to explain. People who share the same feeling probably know what I mean!!

Not quite. From my understanding, binaural sound is the process of using multiple microphones to create a more "3D" sound. Reich's techniques dealt more with the instruments of creating sound, such as synthesizers and other electronic instruments. But since I'm not too familiar with binaural sound, it's possible Reich could have used techniques like this in his processes.

You're right, one of the tracks is slightly slower than the other (note other definitions of retarded). This creates the effect.

Fair question. I listen to this piece for enjoyment and find it maddeningly exciting. I don't take any drugs to achieve this. Reich didn't compose this piece notationally, but rather by manipulating tape loops. If it's not your thing, that's fine (I didn't like it at first either!), but I hope you'll listen to some of the places where this early experimentation eventually took Reich: pieces like Music for 18 Musicians, Different Trains, and Three Tales, which are all masterpieces.

Do people actually enjoy listening to this for enjoyment? Serious question. I work at a famous music venue, so I've been exposed to ALL kinds of music from different artists, genres, etc. Some I liked more than others, but I could see and hear the reason behind their fan bases. This....this is what happens when a CD skips. We actively avoid this, so I don't really see how you can hear this and enjoy it. Also: how exactly did he "compose" anything?
