This is so misleading the l88 was an option car that pushed exactly 430 horsepower there was no more to be had for horsepower it was a street driven automobile made for the street not for the race car driver get it right this thing hear your people are watching is full of crap it's misleading don't believe it
@scottwheaton96893 күн бұрын
Not so! Some yrs back back I saw/read where a Factory stock rblt L88 motor was engine dyno’d at 560ish HP I believe with headers & no accessories.
@BM-wx9qh21 сағат бұрын
Agree with Scott. These motors were at least 560 hp. They came with stickers indicating they had to run at least 103 octane because compression ratios were 12.5 to 1.
@BillieWilliams-l6m19 сағат бұрын
Wrong that 430 hp was at 4500 rpm But at 6800 rpm, 560 hp

Good grief, the narrator in this video keeps repeating the same things over & over REPEATEDLY throughout the entire video. Between the continuous repeating and the silly claim of "only around 20 were ever made" ( 216 were made from '67 through '69 ), this video actually sucks.
@sarmadchaudhary-zy4ni3 күн бұрын
Only 20 L88 cars were built in 1967, 80 cars in 1968, and in 1969, 116 L88 Corvettes were produced, ths video mainly explain the 1967 corvette.

Yea, AI does that...

@@sarmadchaudhary-zy4ni No.......when THE ROBOT said "only around 20 were ever produced"......it did NOT specify "1967 only". Besides, did I or did I not say 216 were produced in total for all 3 yrs? Yes, I certainly did. Don't go sticking up for these lame ass videos using a robot to narrate.
@howabouthetruth21572 күн бұрын
@@randymiller6197 Yep........which is precisely why this video totally sucks. The "robot narrator" is also wrong when it said: "only around 20 were ever produced".......yet it mentions they were produced for 3 yrs: 1967 - 1969. It was only during the first year of 1969 that only 20 were produced. Over that 3 yr period, they produced a total of 216 Vette's factory equipped with the L88.
@howabouthetruth21573 күн бұрын
"Chevrolet only made around 20 of them" ( the L88 Corvettes )..........That's bullsh*t. Yes, they made a very small number of L88 Vette's, and they are rare...........but they made a lot more than "around 20 of them". 216 Corvettes were produced during the 3 year period '67-'69 that were factory equipped with the L88 engine.
@BM-wx9qh21 сағат бұрын
Maybe they were talking about the 20 made in 67.
@howabouthetruth215720 сағат бұрын
@@BM-wx9qh No, because the AI robot/narrator never mentioned 1967 when saying "only 20 were ever produced". Furthermore: it never even mentioned the grand total of 216 for all 3 yrs of production. I rest my case.

The 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is rare, but is it really worth all the hype? Some say cars like the Plymouth Road Runner were better. What do you think?

There's àt least one of these cars is apparently a Plymouth Super-bird; maybe the experimental division of the automaker.. Petty 'the King' drove one for awhile.
@timmccreery659721 күн бұрын
Dodge wasn't competing against Chevy in the late 60's. GM pulled all divisions out of racing in 1963, so Dodge and Plymouth were only competing against Ford and Mercury.
