This is excerpted from a 4-hour series I shot for PBS on Japan. I cut the series into 4-16 minute pieces and posted them in the Japan playlist on this channel (it was the only way I could make them free). There are two more stories on Roberto/sword making and another couple on how to be a modern-day samurai, totaling about 15 minutes (videos 2-6 on the playlist). If you check the pinned comment at the top you’ll find a link to the playlist. Roberto eventually became a successful opera singer (no kidding - reality is sometimes stranger than fiction!) and there’s a link to his amazing singing in that pinned comment as well. Thank you for asking!

When he goes back to Brazil he can start making swords for the cartels. Great job Japan.

Keep it Japanese. He can take what he learned back to Brazil and start his own thing. But certain aspects of certain cultures should remain pure blood.

Pretty bad ass though. Humans will need to pass traditions down to those with the desire more so than those with the bloodline. Our next generation of youth has no motivation.
