Villeroy is definitely always one to look up! Awesome on the platter. I love their novelty and holiday pieces! I've seen the staff at this store go in the back to have things (already priced) repriced IN FRONT of a customer at the checkout because they thought it was too low. 🥴 Bad practice in my mind but 🤷‍♀️. That's why I didn't even try with the mug. Too damaged also.

Yeah, the prices at most places on the South island are getting pretty wild! The new one in Langford though does seem to have *some* decent pieces coming out at reasonable prices so I'd say it's worth a browse. You never know what may be waiting! Thanks for watching. ☺️✌️

Thanks for your comment! I think there's room for everyone to make money at the end of the day, thrifts and resellers. Reselling and antique/vintage dealing have existed as legitimate businesses for a long time and thrifting has long been a source for those of us with the knowledge and skill set to pick out special pieces for our customers. Also keep in mind that in this day and age, reselling is an amazing income source for people of all backgrounds and walks of life. Many of the resellers I know ARE "the people who really need cheap items", and are finding it a great way to supplement their income as they struggle to survive in this crazy world, doing something they have to do anyway. For example, I am far from a rich girl, and reselling has enabled me to support my family and still be present to take care of my daughter because financially, to put her in child care so I could work a regular 9-5, would never allow us to get ahead. None of us know anyone's story unless they share it with us so remember, as humans, we're all beings of nuance and things are rarely black and white. 🙂💖

@@zenkatvintage, I agree with you and see that you were still able to get some great items for sale. I neither resell nor do I need stuff for small amounts of money. In fact, I am old enough so that for every thrifted treasure I find, I find something in my house to donate back. More and more I donate dishware and clothing to places who give those items to those in need for free. I live in SK but we get to the Island once or twice a year. I just discovered your channel so haven’t looked back to see if you shop at the Chemainus thrift store. It’s a good one. People actually line up Tuesday mornings for when the doors open because new items are put out Mondays when they are closed.

I love that you have a process of redonating and contributing back to the organizations in that way! And I'm thrilled to hear from a fellow Canadian and someone who's familiar with the island. ☺️ I don't get to the Chemainus store very often (only once this past year) but you've certainly gotten me interested in visiting again soon. So true! Nothing makes a cup quite like they do. They stopped making them years ago and there are die hards who won't use anything but those! They sell really consistently. Even the parts sell well. 😁

You're so kind! I truly appreciate your lovely comments. The McD's keychains are so fun! I sell a lot of little toys like that and have never seen them. 😊 I use Google lens to help identify pieces that I'm unsure of, or if I'm trying to ID patterns etc. If I know what something is, I use eBay to look at sold comparables, and Google for what they're selling for more broadly online. I tend to get more for items on Etsy than I do on eBay. eBay also has a built in search feature for sold items and price searches which can be useful. Reselling definitely is a lot of work, and so many underestimate how much goes into it. Thanks for seeing the work we do! 💖 And yes! The link to my Etsy shop is in the bio. Yes! Duncan has some great shops. I do love Sassy Lion, but definitely was surprised at how much the pricing has continued to go up. Still great for personal shopping though and even some good deals for reselling. 💖

I haven't had the opportunity to thrift that far up the island. When we're up that way, it's usually for camping and adventuring and I don't think the fam would appreciate me filling the car with my finds. 😆 I do love the SOS in Parksville though and will hopefully be making a trip there in a few weeks! Nanaimo also has some good ones I haven't been to in a while. There's a Salvation Army that used to be fabulous. I may have to make a trip up that way though, dedicated to thrifting. I've heard there are some GREAT spots.

Hi! I think you mean the flower frogs? They're actually made of heavy cast metal and are for creating floral arrangements! You can either place the spikes directly into the bottom of a flower stem, or place the stems in between the spikes if they're thick enough. I can't add a picture here but on my IG, you can see what little flowers look like in a pot with a spiked frog. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! 😊✌️

Yes! Victorian hair art is spectacular. I used to collect mourning jewelry and had more than a few pieces with hair in them. The large pictures are to die for! I love the resourcefulness that the hair receivers represent. They even used it for stuffing little projects like pincushions, and for adding back into their own fancy, bouffant hairstyles! Love a low waste mentality. 😊 And yes! The little butter crock was sweet. A little chipped up though. I'm on the hunt for a nice one for myself! Thanks for watching and commenting. 💖
