Lovely to hear that familiar Brinsmead tone. My Dad's old piano was a Brinsmead, brought out from Ireland to Australia in about 1903. I looked up the serial number and it was made in 1897. It travelled 1000's of more km's around country NSW with us due to all of Dad's job transfers. It finally bit the dust around 20 years ago with a broken metal frame and completely clapped-out key components making it uneconomical to repair. Dad used the English Rosewood and Mahogany for various projects. I made a very special decorative box with the left-over timber to hold his ashes. Many cherished memories of many gatherings spent around that piano. It was probably never properly tuned but never stopped the Old Man from pumping out the music.

That was one of the best piano performances I've ever heard, on my favorite brand of pianos, Kawaii, of one of my favorite movie themes: Somewhere in Time. 🩷

Are there Calisia's that are lesser quality that we shouldn't buy? Just spotted one in the USA made in 1995... but not near me, so i can't go play/feel/inspect it. I like grand-sounding uprights, that warm, full tone, no tinny sounds, no thin short string sounds.

"Your Song", by Elton John. In case you want to sing along: It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside I'm not one of those who can easily hide I don't have much money, but, boy, if I did I'd buy a big house where we both could live If I was a sculptor, heh, but then again, no Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show I know it's not much, but it's the best I can do My gift is my song, and this one's for you

Sounds like a wonderful Bluthner. So many recordings online process the sound to something other than the real sound, or the rebuilds don't sound like a Bluthner. This sounds like a Bluthner. I'm sick I passed on a Bluthner a couple of years ago. These are special pianos. I think they're particularly well suited for homes. They're exciting and big, but the warmth and intimacy that go along with the bigness make them a really lovely experience to the player.

The way you described them sounds like they’re of similar values to a Steinway

We had a six octave Murdoch and Murdoch mini art deco piano when I was a child -and I simply started to lose interest in playing. 15 missing notes, poor quality sound -and Dad, who was a musician himself (but not a piano player) showed no interest in replacing it at any time. It took his death when I was 14 to be able to do anything about it with me getting a decent piano at aged 15 -but damage done, didn't get much enthusiasm back so didn't get anywhere in the long run and eventually sold piano and completely gave up.

I just purchased a 2005 RX3 here in the states. I noticed the Millenium III action to be some what stiffer than a Renner all wood action. Have you experienced that with the RX3s you have played?
