That exact machine is the most fun 5 axis machine I've ran. It was great to be one of the first people (2nd i believe) to run that machine there at Omni Thanks John! I'm glad you got the window replaced. The customer service and training from Grob was top notch.

LYNX 2600 ?? Does it still come with the very average Live Tools or have Doosan upgraded it to the Puma Live Tools ? ( 5.5kw/7.4hp ) Don't get me wrong. LYNX are a great machine just not so good for power and rigidity of the Live Tools. Curious why Doosan built another machine to compete against it's other machines ???? LYNX 2600 ? GT 2600 ?? PUMA 2600. ??? Definitely interested to look at the specs on this latest addition.

The live tools on a Lynx 2600SY are BMT-55 and 7HP. The Puma equivalent is the Puma 2600SY with BMT-65 and 10HP. These are two completely different machines, but each serve their intended purpose very well. Thanks for reaching out!

Lynx is Linear Ways and BMT 55 / GT 2600 has box ways but has no Y-axis / Puma 2600 is box way with BMT 65 and Y axis. Different price points for different needs. The difference in price is pretty substantial too. If you needed bigger bar capacity but don't need a Y-axis, but still want a box way for a cheaper price then the GT2600 is better. Or if you're running alum all day but want bigger diameter but don't need a boxway, then the Lynx 2600 is better, don't need to overpay for a boxway and bigger turret.

@@peterdao8552 Hey Peter. My some what confusion with the LYNX 2600 is WHY ?? The LYNX 2100/2200 are great machines, as long as you understand their limits ? But at least, still better than a HAAS Linear Lathe. When saying the LYNX is limited ask the question WHY make a 2600 ?? If the price is close to the 2100 I definitely understand the appeal of this machine for a new machine buyer. Larger Chuck with the Puma GT Tool Turret.( BMT55) My main confusion of WHY a LYNX 2600 ?? 10 inch Chuck ?? On a Linear Lathe ?? Just makes NO sense. A 10 inch Chuck is for Serious cutting ?? I will have a price of the LYNX 2600 as soon as my Doosan Dealer replies to my email ???? Locally a fully Loaded LYNX 2100 including tax is around 180k A fully Loaded Puma 2600 including tax is around 260k I am guessing the LYNX 2600 will be somewhere in the middle ?? For dollar sake i would prefer a Puma GT 2600 with C axis and a DNM 5700 A combination of these 2 machines together is not much more than a Puma 2600. Of course this is only my thoughts. But a Mill and a Lathe in a small shop is more useful than a Turn / Mill Maybe i will come back and edit this comment when i Finally have a price for the LYNX 2600 ?? At a guess i would say 210k - 220k ??

@@weldmachine I know for the Lynx 220 I have, we run barfeed stuff. And some of our work is more than 2-3/8" dia. We were looking at the Lynx 2600 to fill the gap between 2-3/8 - 3" dia, but up to that size, we preferred a boxway over a linear. Just more stable. A dedicated mill and lathe is always better! But mill turn is for convenience so you don't have to set-up fixtures on the mill. I luckily found a used 2017 Puma 2600 SY at a big fat discount with low hours. So I got very lucky with that.
