That's a pretty complex workflow, wow. I like how you do the screenshots to show where we are going though, very helpful!

Thanks for this video. I have 2 questions: Why not use a fourth profil for the sweep? Why use 2D offset and move it and not extrude whith undercut? Thanks in advance for the answers🙂
@DuyQuangDang10 күн бұрын
@@marc1849able thanks for the question. Use 4: the end line of the surf is not in center, somewhere in the right. The surf is not perfect symitry. Also have to create another profile sketch but have to cut the surf in half anyway. 2. Yes I think you can try extrude and tap angle. You can give it a try.

Is there a reason you are creating all of those offset surfaces and not doing a thickness operation on a closed solid?
@Captain_Vitorio_Muscovy14 күн бұрын
Thickness is problematic at the moment, if the shape is not simple, it fails (I've been learning FreeCAD for a few weeks and got stuck on this tool, after research I found plenty of complaints about this problem)

Thanks so much for this, just a question, are you a mechanical engineer? Do you do full scale mechanical, commercial work on freecad? If so, are you willing to teach me freecad with paid hours? I’m a designer with 7 years of solidworks experience. I can write you an email and we can discuss please. Do share your ID. Thanks!

Followed the tutorial but couldn't get the curved segments to work at time 13:18. The top segments were twisted in on themselves. Increasing the interpolation points didn't help.
@DuyQuangDang18 күн бұрын
You could double check the point of the join curve, it have to be exactly in the middle. If not it will be twisted, 12:06
@neilnagel985717 күн бұрын
@@DuyQuangDang Finally was able to get the curved segments to work by not clicking on the point after selecting all the lines. My next question is why do you have a toolbar on the left side at time 17:46? And why can't I find scale anywhere? I can go to the draft workbench to scale the part but I can't find how to do it in the part workbench.
@DuyQuangDang17 күн бұрын
@@neilnagel9857 Try part menu/scale. Older version don't have it.
