Hello! Honestly my comment here has nothing to do with the actual video so I’m sorry for that. But remember in your evaluation of Blade Man in your Mega Man Best Robot Masters ranking? And how you said he has a new attack using his head on hard mode? Well apparently Pump Man also has a hard mode exclusive attack, where he throws his pump handle like a boomerang forward. I don’t know if anyone else has a hard mode attack, but if they do, reply what they are in this comment.

Funny how most of the bottom bosses are from the weakest mega man games. Mega Man & Bass, MM8, MM5, etc. It's almost like the robot masters make a decent majority of the game

I haven’t finished every game yet. I’ve only gotten through the first 7, and I’m in the middle of 8 (which I’ll put on the list anyways). But here’s my list so far: 8. Mega Man I really hate the way Mega Man moves in the first game. I like all the robot masters, but the stages themselves annoy me because the game feel doesn’t mesh with the level design very often. And if it weren’t for the pause glitch, I never would have made it past the Yellow Devil. 7. Mega Man 8 It’s just kind of boring. I don’t mind the bad voice acting because at least it’s fun to laugh at how terrible it is. But the stages and bosses themselves are just kinda forgettable. I generally don’t like the auto-scrolling sections, but the movement in regular areas feels better than MM1, so it’s a bit better overall. 6. Mega Man 4 Here’s a lesson for the internet: Never tell people that anything is “the best game in the series.” It sets really high expectations that will only be disappointing if not met exactly as promised. And that’s what happened to me when I first played 4. I had played 1, 2, 3, and 5 by the time I got to 4. Everyone told me that 5 was really bad so when I went in and realized it wasn’t awful but just fine, I ended up enjoying it a lot. Before playing 4, I had only heard that it was the best game on the NES, so I was very excited to get to playing it. I liked a lot of the elements of the game (Pharaoh Man and Toad Man’s stage designs, the secret items, and the music), but I didn’t feel it did anything leagues better than the others I had played. I didn’t like the charge shot because I was already used to the OP charge shot in 5, and I thought a lot of the robot master designs in the game were just stupid. By the time I reached the end of the game, I was more disappointed with its glorified legacy than I was with the game itself. 5. Mega Man 3 This is definitely one of the most overrated games in the series. But I didn’t know that when I first played it, so the Mega Man 4 effect didn’t happen in this case. I like a lot of the robot master designs (Snake Man, Gemini Man, Shadow Man, Magnet Man), and Snake Man’s stage might just be my favorite in the whole series. Also the introduction of Rush and the slide are great additions to the classic series’ gameplay. Unfortunately the second half of the game just feels bloated and unnecessary. I hate the Doc Robot fights with a passion and I think the game would be much better without them. Overall, MM3 is probably weaker than 4, but I didn’t have impossible expectations of 3 before I played it, so it wasn’t a disappointment. 4. Mega Man 7 God, this game is visually stunning. The sprite work is so detailed, colorful, and beautiful. I like collecting the Rush letters to get the Rush suit, and I like Bass a fair amount. However, I am not the biggest fan of the movement or the music in this game. Walking feels much too slow due to Mega Man’s size on the screen and the extra frames of animation, and the music just doesn’t hit the same way the NES series’ music does. It’s still a lot of fun, and I do like most of the stages and bosses in the game, but it loses some points in those two categories. 3. Mega Man 5 Yup, I’m the sucker who likes boring Mega Man games. What can I say? I like a lot of the gimmicks and boss weapons in this one. I love Gravity Man’s stage flipping gravity throughout the stage. I think the automated section of Wave Man’s stage is a pretty cool spectacle with a wicked looking mini-boss. I like the zero gravity jumps in Star Man’s stage. And I like collecting all the letters to unlock Beat in every stage. I think most of the boss weapons are cool (Gravity Hold, Gyro Attack, Napalm Bomb, Crystal Eye), even if they’re not super useful. And I think this is the first Mega Man game with gorgeous visuals in each level of the game. 2. Mega Man 6 This one has potential to become my favorite game in the classic series. I love the theme of each robot master representing a different country and their stages reflecting that. Just like MM5, this game’s visuals are breathtaking, especially for the NES. The platforming concepts are great, especially in Flame Man, Plant Man, Wind Man, and Centaur Man’s stages. I like most of the boss weapons in this game because they’re actually useful. Flame Man’s weapon is great for burning through tough enemies; Wind Man’s is like a single-target Gravity Hold; I like the upward arc on the Silver Tomahawk; Knight Crusher is another sledgehammer of a weapon... The main thing keeping 6 from being my number 1 is the music. It’s fine, but not really a contender for one of the best soundtracks in the series. 1. Mega Man 2 “Mega Man 2 is so overrated, it’s terrible, it doesn’t do anything better than 3 or 4, what a hypocrite!” Yeah, all of that is probably true. But it was the first Mega Man game I played. I’m not above saying it’s my favorite because of nostalgia. But it also has some of my favorite robot master designs. Wood Man looks wonderfully cartoony; Air Man is surprisingly terrifying for a giant hair dryer; Heat Man being a zippo lighter is great; Metal Man just looks awesome; and I love the way Bubble Man kicks his feet when he jumps around. Yeah, there’s some (a lot of) BS when it comes to the level design (Quick Man’s insta-death beams, Boobeam Trap boss, Heat Man’s disappearing platforms without Item 2, Air Man’s impenetrable Air Shots). But I’m just used to it because I’ve played it so much. And even if it did still annoy me, the music is by far my favorite in the series, and I’d play the game anyways, just to hear the soundtrack.

"Mega Man 7" is the "Toy Story 2" of the Mega Man series. Given the ludicrously short development time it had, it had no right turning out this amazing.

I haven’t played the games in a minute but here I go #12: Megaman And Bass (I actually really enjoyed the start, but the later robot master and king stages just brought the game down. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either) #11: Megaman 3 (hold your pitchforks, like I said it’s been awhile, I just don’t remember loving the level design, and I can’t deny how much the doc robots pissed me off) #10: Megaman 5 (one of three games in classic series I’ve only beaten one time, I only remember defending stone man for some reason. Robot masters were mostly ok, Proto man stages felt lazy as hell, and the end game was ok) #9: Megaman 1 (I’ve played this game a lot, and I like some parts of it. It just felt too short and a few of the gimmicks and stages are really poorly done. The fights are also split between being really well done and really poor. I like it, but it could be better) #8: Megaman 8 (yet again, hold your pitchforks, I used to love this game, but now I can’t think of it nearly as highly. Haven’t played it in a while, but I still remember liking it. Not going to lie, I’ll probably rank it lower if I replay all the games) #7: Megaman 11 (the first megaman game I ever played, I loved it. That being said I haven’t played through it fully in so long that it’s a bit harder to rank. I also used to only play on the easiest difficulty, so this ranking is definitely skewed. I liked the robot masters, the end game was good overall. Also damn that soundtrack is amazing) #6 Megaman 2 (I wont deny that I think it’s a bit overrated, but man I can’t deny how much nostalgia I have for it. Easily the game I used to play the most, pretty decent line up of robot masters, and genuinely one of my favourite end games, probably due to nostalgia) #5: Megaman 6 (I remember this game being really good, and that’s about it. I remember really liking the robot masters, I can’t remember why. I know the game is really good, it’s just not as memorable as some of the others for me) #4: Megaman 4 (I have both amazing and terrible memories from this game. I hated Bright man and Ring man, and I can’t deny Dive man gave me a bit of trouble, but playing through the Cossack stages and later the wily stages during the nights of my Christmas holidays will forever be some of my best megaman moments. Oh, and this game has some awesome level design and end game bosses) #3: Megaman 10 (used to be the king, fell down a bit because the top two just have better robot masters. I love the many additions like the difficulty settings, playable characters, challenge mode and achievements, and of course the robot masters. End game was also phenomenal. A treat the whole way through) #2: Megaman 7 (I can’t believe I used to hate this game. I was so bad at it that it skewed my ranking, but man. Level design and robot masters are impeccable. Patterns, pristine. Hell, the wily fight might break my balls because it’s so hard, but I can’t deny it’s a well done fight) #1: Megaman 9 (I love this game. I have been torn between my favourite robot master for so long, and all the contenders are in this game. Galaxy Man, Magma Man, Jewel Man, Hornet Man, they’re all amazing. End game was really good too, and the music was fantastic) Overall, the classic series is full of masterpieces

Needle man was my favorite fight in the classic games for a buster only challenge the way you have to time your jumps with his head attack, the way you meticulously slide past his needles when he's far away basically being a better version of top man's attack with an extra projectile, and his design goofy, but clever and that weapon being basically a machine gun, I love this guy and I'm glad he made it in the top 10 good show!

Seriously, Nico. You bang on and on about "oh, this game doesn't have native controller support so I have to use _JoyToKey,"_ but honestly? Is it really _that_ much of a problem? Almost every game uses the same binds: Arrows, Z, X, C, A, S, Enter. Sometimes Shift. Sometimes other keys. _Just make one universal profile._ Simple solutions.

I can assure you, the Screw Bombers don't work like they do in _Mega Man._ On top of missing its "close" cycle, its "spin" cycle uses the wrong pattern. It's also not proximity-based and there's no randomness to how often it re-fires. But, I'm not surprised. Even good games don't seem to care about the little niceties like that. Also. _I_ play _Mega Man 8,_ you butt. ): I just haven't in a few years…

25:35 - And there's Cosmic Gem being entitled, as expected. Mm-mm. Gotta love people who think they're the cream of the crop just because they contributed to a fan game project. It happens all too often, sadly. Reminds me of some guy on _Reddit_ who recently advertised the latest _Make a Good_ project (from seven years ago) in the _Maker_ sub-Reddit. _"In layman's terms..._ without *Make a Good Mega Man Level* there wouldn't be *Mega Man Maker."* If you say so, Shred-Head.

If these fan games are so bad, and you can _tell_ it's bad within the first few _seconds,_ then why do you keep going, complaining all the way? I personally don't find it entertaining. I just find it _pretentious._ You have the occasional amusing comment, but for the most part, it's just "this game sucks" and "you should never make fan games". Tell you what. I rarely make this argument, but _you_ try making a fan game. You seem to have the knowledge and there's plenty of tools for it nowawdays, so make the fan game that _you_ want to play. And record the process. People would be interested. _I_ would be interested.

It really drives me up the wall that, to this day, people still do that stupid thing where they have a continuous screen that goes right beneath a room with a right-handed ladder, or similar. They finally fixed the diagonal screen scrolling in v1.8.3, but the weird transitions are still jarring. _I have a couple videos on the matter, actually…_

I don't understand why you don't understand "Pinch Mode" or "Desperation Mode". It's not common in the normal _Mega Man_ games, I'll admit - in fact, I think it was only in the arcade games and _Mega Man 11._ It's slightly more common in _Mega Man X._ Regardless, it makes perfect sense to me. I often play better when my health is really low. d:

This was just embarrassing to watch. I don't remember much about this game, but I remember beating it - including this stage - and writing a bug report / evaluation document. Which Mr. Page thanked me for, but politely informed me he didn't plan on updating or even bug-fixing the game. Well, I tried.
