Was there a trick to getting the lug bolts off? I wanted to try the technique of reversing the lugs bolts and adding a nut, but there's no space on the back to get it off.

How can you made there with a SUV? I thought only high clearance vehicle can make it for the kind of terrain. Also what kind of tires did you use for this kind of terrain?
@ZathrusGizmo123Ай бұрын
The axle nut should NEVER be done up with an impact gun! Get the bolt on about 95%, but DEFINITELY use a torque wrench to do the final drive home. You said your torque wrench only goes to 200, so perhaps borrowing one from a parts store or Pep Boys, etc that CAN give you the correct torque. I recently did a similar job on a passenger car and had to 'stake' the collar of the axle nut to lock it into place for safety. Does Jeep do anything similar?

Great video!! ❤ Thanks for doing this walk-thru as this front wheel bearing on the WK2 appears to be a common issue. I laughed at 12:37 when you sped the video up to remove the bearing/hub assembly! It was like a frenetic robot was just hammering to town to release the assembly, kinda like a jackhammer! 😅 Your video makes it look doable by all of us driveway mechanics on the cardboard creepers! Thanks again and great work!

Where you experiencing vibration in the front end at high speed by any chance, is this what lead you to the wheel bearing replacement diagnosis? I have a 2014 with this problem, that’s why I ask.

Interesting. Thanks for showing me. By the way, the OEM Mopar ATF+4 was about $1.20 less per quart than the Valvoline-labeled version; comparing prices of 6-packs on Amazon.

Only thing I would’ve added to your video is to apply anti-seize to areas where corrosion is common to make it easier to remove in the future.

Are you checking the fluid level with the engine running and in Drive. Thanks
@rage8017 ай бұрын
Lol you don't have a low range in your differential. Low range comes from a transfer case and if you have a transfer case that means you have four-wheel drive if you do not have a transfer case and all four tires spin that means you have all-wheel drive in order to get low range you need to transfer case it has nothing to do with the differentials
@rage8017 ай бұрын
Elevation change has nothing to do with tow rating. Tow rating is engine cooling and transmission cooling features as well as the braking system. All it means it's going to take you longer to get up that hill you're climbing but the tow rating remains the same.

My 2015 gets 20 mpg. It last me two weeks on a full tank of gas driving 36 miles a day. It only costed me $60 to fill. Its not the bad with the size of the engine being 3.6 L.
