A great no bs video on how to line up a floor to start an engineered product. No long pointless explanations. Great job.

DUDE YOU ARE THE BEST! Excellent - thank you for the 'brace idea with screws' - wonderful. and the straight line from the wall to align front to back. [Camera video tip - when you 'pan around' to show the finished room, move more slowly and gradually to make it a stable viewing scene vs quicker and jumpy-I was a professional wedding videographer.]

Did you glue the floors down?

Very good video! Starting our first DIY flooring project. We purchased an Engineered wood flooring in varying widths. I have watched many videos, one will show glueing the tongue and groove on your starter two rows and you show nailing the starter row. Two newbie questions.... If you nail the flooring, how does it then expand and contract? I don't want to add a shoe molding, just the existing baseboard. Can I cut the bottom of the baseboards and slide the flooring underneath for the expansion or remove the baseboards and reinstall on top of the flooring? Thank you!

Been an installer for over 15 years. Would definitely recommend you remove your existing base board to make it easier. Would be a night mare to pull it in on your opposite end of your starting point especially for a diy. If it’s nail just make sure you don’t nail the ending point so it can expand and contract to the opposite end

Remove baseboard that runs along length of planks before nailing first row of planks in. Same thing with last row of planks. Make sure that you rip cut your last row of planks to a width such that when you nail back your baseboards, it will hide the gap. But make sure you have a large enough gap between the drywall such that you can get in with a crook and tap the last row of planks in to lock with adjacent second to last row. Last row should either be glued down, floated by tongue and groove glue, OR face nailed. I prefer to just use glue down and use tongue and groove glue.
