After listening to an interview from two years ago, Exoddus was not the second game in the anthology. It was just an in between snack because the CEO in the 90s demanded a game. Soulstorm is the actual vision, the real second Oddworld game. It only takes lightly on some elements from Exoddus to highlight this fact. Exoddus was merely a bonus game and so everyone (CEOs and the press) would remain silent. But I think the biggest mistake was the long time it took to finally give us Soulstorm. Too many people have fallen under the false pretense that Exoddus is indeed the second game in the saga. They created a false fan cult and now are pooping mentally all over the internet because their fan circle itself is not canon. 🤣

Realized 2 more things: 1:Gex references Star Trek a LOT in Enter the Gecko, and Deep Cover Gecko shows that Rez has a whole collection of Star Trek Bloopers. Maybe Gex got his love of Star Trek from his father? 2:Enter the Gecko is the game that gives Rez green parts indicating him possibly being a cyborg with green skin. Maybe they gave him the green skin rather than keeping him all metal, lights and screens to show he’s not just a robot?

I believe it was a "Star Wars" reference that was *supposed* to be a plot twist; ergo, it is NOT a retcon...

Rez being Gex's father makes sense, it would literally tie the 'Its just a Star Wars reference' theme together even. As a reference, the malevolent being turning out to be the Father of the hero, completely checks out.

Another small detail that could point to this theory is that the background in the final boss of Gex 3 looks very similar to the background in the scene of empire strikes back, where darth Vader tells Luke he’s his dad.

I know that lots of people have got reasons to hate LordKat, but where I'm at, I find myself understanding the circumstances in which people hated or ragged on LordKat or had huge political issues with him in Channel Awesome. I'm starting to understand why those things happen more, but I thought from understanding why they happened, like all the stuff with The Spoony One, I do find myself coming down on LordKat's side a lot more as the years go on. Not just E3 2010, but kind of generally with his view of things. Honestly, with LordKat, I always think that the worst thing I can say about him is that he takes things too seriously, he's a bit of a stickler, and he's a bit of a party pooper sometimes. And if that's the worst stuff I can say about someone, then really he's not that bad at all. You know, like, with Spoony, you could come up with a laundry list of "Oh, he's done this, he's done this, he's done this." LordKat is like "He's surly, and he can be a bit fucking mardy at times." Outside of that, I don't think I can really come up with anything about LordKat that would make me be like, "Oh, I can see why people hate this guy now." At the end of the day, it's exhausting to be a public face and figure, and have all this bad shit happen to you.

Gex's backstory is downright depressing when you really get down to it, darkly funny, but very sad. As for the big Rez in the room, I always wondered is he really Gex's father? I don't know, but the very idea that Rez wanted Gex to be his mascot...is it a twisted way to reconnect with his son? I'm beginning to believe this theory more and more now... Also it's great to hear people talk about Gex (and Rez)
