That's a radio I haven't seen for a while.. Mine had 23cm in place of the 220MHz band though.

IC-738 is a great HF radio! It does it all with built-in ATU. I had two of the over the years and sold my last one to buy an IC-7600. The IC-756 series is the next generation of after the 738 then came the IC-7600. I also have an IC-7300 that is a great radio as well, in a nice, compact package. I prefer the buttons and knobs of the 738 and 7600. Paul - K7IN

This is a dream radio for me. Don't have an hf yet but at my age just one of this will do just fine. Very simple to operate, no menus but it will get the job done for sure. Maybe one of this days.

Cool, it's great to see one of these radios in use! I bought my IC-32 from a local radio gathering last year for £15 (about $19). While it worked fine, it didn't have the CTCSS module fitted as most UK repeaters used a brief 1750Hz tone to open them up 35 years ago when these rigs were first launched here. I managed to find a UK stockist (Radioworld) who had a Piexx UT-40PX (which is an equivalent to the Icom CTCSS module) and bought and fitted one a few days ago. It all works well and it's great to make what was an obsolete radio useable again. 73 from SE England, Simon G0CIQ.

I got the same radio almost as a gift for €20, complete set with 2 batteries, antenna power supply and cigarette lighter plug with original case and operating instructions in very good condition. Reception and sound are very good.
